Step back in time to a place where real "Home cooking" is served, as well as other cafe options. The building is over 100 years old and looks it ,but that is what is so cool about it. The dining room was full of locals and every work truck in ten miles was in the parking lot. I enjoyed the lunch buffet, the food reminded me of eating at Grandma's house. I'll stop here everytime I pass through.

We went for my husband Randys 70th birthday dinner here and I loooved this place. Our waitress was a hoot! And she was great . I’ve managed to put on a few lbs and she said she had too and that the lovely lady’s that were rubanesque were also the Gods Goddesses and so we are in good company with our fluffiness. Ok now how can you not love that plus she managed to get into the background of our photograph they took with a wave, such fun! It was cozy, not bright lit which I liked, the ambience was absolute serene and it was decorated all for Halloween. I’m going back!! And I certainly recommend that you go too! You’ll love it. Dress any way you want !! I think everyone fits right in. Oh and the cook was lovely and great as well our steaks were delicious. Go and enjoy!!!
Vegetarian options: They have a great salad bar and a wonderful seafood bar as well.
Parking: Close to the restaurant not much walking involved and just off of the highway, so very easy to find!
Kid-friendliness: Perfect for the whole family and at 58 if I had fun I would imagine a kid would too!! 😃

Dont let the looks of this place fool you. I was a little concerned when i say the state of the place. Walls on the outside were rotting and there was water standing in the bathroom floor. I almost left. But man im glad i didnt. The food is fabulous!! And the onion rings cook to perfection. I know its an odd thing to say about O rings but facts are facts. Dont pass this place up if youre in the area just on looks alone. Great food low prices and great service.

Coming back to Florida after escaping Hutu Milton spotted a fading sign on an old building that said country home coot, how could I resist. What a great surprise, it was Friday and you could opt for the Seafood Buffet for only $22.95. To many things to list Shrimp, Frog legs Scallops, stuffed crab and more. Home cooked veggies and banana pudding for dessert. Southern cooking and hospitality at its best like Sunday dinner at your favorite Aunts. The staff took the extra time to tell the history of the restaurant ( it’s been there since 1928) If you are going thu Cross city on US19 slow down stop and smell and taste the real Florida. Ps it was decorated for Halloween and even got a special look at one of the decorations up close.
Small town whole in the wall This place is the classic dive, you know. Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives loved the decor awesome. My first time eating here it was good but not great .
Overall, give it a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10
We got pancakes, breakfast sandwiches , and biscuits gravy over medium eggs bacon .
However, this place is NO whole in the wall. Are you going ? Just how sure are you 50%, 75%, or 💯 ? Of going to heaven ✨️
