Shocked. We were invited to dinner by a friend building in Big Pine Key on our road. We are vegan, he is not. We were trying to decide which vegan friendly restaurant in Key West we would go to. He asked if we'd ever been to Broil on Cudgoe Key. We laughed and said unless they have a real chef they won't have anything we would eat since most restaurants don't make their own food. He said to call them. Laughing I did, and Lola, the nicest person, answered the phone. She wasn't sure but thought they could make pasta for us. I asked if the chef makes the marinara from scratch and didn't use all the weird stuff some places add. She said yes he can make it from scratch. So a few minutes later she texts me and says he can make the amazing pasta and she checked to make sure they had vegan pasta noodles. Above and beyond she went so we decided to go there tonight for dinner. The welcome we received, service, and the food could only have been better if there was a vegan dessert. 🤣
Our friend loved his meal and dessert and as you can tell by this review we loved ours. I would suggest adding a vegan/plant based protein such as a Chunk or Juicy Marbles steak for those that eat and like a healthy version of steak and a bread with no dairy. Thank you to everyone at Broil! By the way if you want a table go early! They are well loved!

My son had the Beef Wellington, and it was pure divinity. I had the petite bacon wrapped filet, and it was perfect! The house-made Roquefort blue cheese dressing is literally the best I've ever had. The service was wonderful: friendly and professional. I can't praise this place enough! It's pricey, of course, but worth EVERY penny!

My husband and I went here for our wedding anniversary while we were on vacation. Food was pretty good, until a big bug came crawling across the table and onto my plate. I stood up from the table and a waitress walked by, saw the bug, scooped it up with her bare hand and just kept walking like nothing had happened. No apologies, no offer for a fresh plate. Nothing. When we told our waitress what had happened, she just nonchalantly said that they have a problem with those bugs no matter how much they spray, and proceeded to clear our table and bring us our check. I understand that this is Florida and keeping a place 100% bug free is almost impossible, but the way they handled it (especially at an upscale restaurant that costs an average of $100 per person) blew my mind. Not to mention, if this is how they handle bugs in plan sight of the customer, I’d hate to see what is going on in their kitchen! Are they just picking bugs off of your $100 steak and serving it up to you?!? Gross.

A Hidden Gem in the Lower Keys!
Finding a great spot open on Sundays in the Keys can be a challenge, but Broil absolutely delivered! The food, atmosphere, and service were all top-notch. Ignore any negative reviews—Broil just became my new favorite restaurant in the Lower Keys. Can’t wait to come back!

Wow, just wow. One of the best meals I’ve had! Last minute decision to go from an uber driver recommendation and now it’s going to be a staple spot every Keys trip. Lacey and Claudia were sooo kind and attentive, my glass was never empty and my empty plates were never on the table for long. The food was also just fantastic. The escargot was delightful and the pastry on top was perfect cooked, one of the better dishes I’ve had of escargot. The salad was spectacular, the lettuce was very fresh and the dressing HAD to be made in house cause I’ve never had such a high quality Caesar dressing. Just when I thought I couldn’t eat anymore, my perfectly cooked 12oz filet and the largest (not even exaggerating) lobster tail I’ve ever been served came out and I had to eat every bite. And just when I thought I had to tap out from eating, they mentioned carrot cake and I knew I had to make space for it and so glad I did. Even they coffee was so good, I had to ask for the beans they used. I was so surprised at every dish, I can’t wait to dine here again!

Believe me when I say this was the best meal I’ve ever had. We are here on our honeymoon and this is the best restaurant we have been too. The restaurant is so cute and our waitress was amazing. We got the swordfish and 12oz fillet with lobster mashed potatoes. Get the Cesar salad, trust me. Wish I could take this place back with us to Michigan!

My mind was blown. Everything was on point. From the apps, to the salad, to the entrees. Even the sweet tea was awesome. The service from the moment you walk in is amazing. I believe we had Lacey for our server and she was great. Well done Broil and thanks for a fantastic dinner

Service was great, atmosphere was fantastic, wine list was very good.. Caesar salad was amazing, Filet was good… however, ordered drinks, 2, $15.00 salads, and $70.00 filet to split with gf… they had a $25 split meal fee… not sure why that is needed… on a $110.00 meal. Wound up at 170 for the meal.. drop the split meal fee… your to good to be that petty.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal!! Every bite was amazing. We were so full we had to go for a walk. Lobster sauce mashed potatoes were so yum! The salad and bread, our meal, the carrot cake was crazy good!

Came here for my birthday dinner. Everything was perfect. Home made Caesar salad, lobster, you must upgrade and get the lobster mashed potatoes! Beef Wellington you could cut with a fork. Everyone was super friendly and worked together well.
