Food was tasty but was not hot, atmosphere was beautiful but our server seemed annoyed with us trying to enjoy dinner while on vacation. He was arrogant and rushed us out the door.

Sadly, this place was very hard to find as a tourist. We were referred here by a local. It looked like it was exactly what we wanted. We walked inside and asked for a table, only to be told we were 3 minutes too late. They stopped serving at 2:30. Sorry, we won't have a chance to ever come back and give a proper review. The rating actually came out to 2.66 stars but I rounded up because it looked like everyone was having a great time. But us. This was the location on the boardwalk, not on US 1.

Service was terrible but I think it was just our waiter. Food is over priced and not as good as some other places.

After a four hour drive from Boca towards key west, we were looking for an interesting roadside seafood joint to hit for dinner before getting to key west. Reviews guided us here and it did not disappoint. After about a 30 minute wait, we enjoyed the fried mozzarella appetizer, dinner salads, fish of the day (mahi, grouper) and fish stew. I had the small fish stew portion and it was plenty, so the larger size can feed 2 people - plus the red curry sauce was delicious. It’s a good stop on your way to key west.

Beautifully designed. Beautiful people enjoying the Keys. American Express... don't leave home without it. You're going to need it!

This restaurant (my receipt shows Square Grouper at Cudjoe Key, FL) just put 20% tip on your charge without asking. Then add another line for Additional Tip. What! America pays its workers low wages and then asks customers for tips. Sad. In Europe, the foods are of better taste and lower prices, and waiters are paid a living wage.

It's a so sad, when the owners try so hard and the employees ...just ruin everything. Everything was fine except our waitress. We wait 45mins for a table for two ( I have a friend visiting me from another state). We sat at the table and 4 minutes later another couple got seated at the other half of the same table (properly divided). The waitress jump on them and welcome them warmly. The gentleman had the courtesy to tell her "they got here before us", and when she pretend she didn't hear him, he repeated " this is not right, it's their turn", then she continued her unacceptable behavior and said "it doesn't matter, it's the same". Once she left their table, the gentleman apologized to me for the waitress behavior and told me that's they are locals, living nearby and they are repeared customers.
10 minutes later, she came to take our order. The appetizer came in a reasonable time, but no bread was on our table ( I only noticed it when the gentleman next to us order a second round of bread), after we asked our waitress, she brought us some (fresh and warm). Our bad experience didn't end there though, I order a fish platter with Mahi-Mahi, and she told me that it doesn't come with a cole-slaw, and I had to order extra... When the platter arrived, it came with a cole-slaw in it plus the extra ? I asked her and she was surprised ( obviously she had no idea, how the platter is served), and she told me that she want charge us for it (it wasn't my mistake, anyway).
Good food- bad service😞
- I just noticed (when I post the receipt photo) that we were mis(?)charged for our Pasta Bowl with Pan Sauteed Shrimps.

I haven't been to the Keys for a while. I was playing at a music festival in Key West all week (Mile-0-Fest). My goal was to go to The Square Grouper to try the food, get a t-shirt (their logo is cool, always liked it) between gigs. I had a free day. I managed to squeeze it in. Pretty excited to be headed to this place. I've been to the Keys many times in the past and always wanted to stop here. So I get there, talk to the hostess/seating person. Ask for a table. She says it'll be a 40 minute wait. So I'm waiting and waiting. I watch her seat 3 different groups before me at small tables. And no, they didn't have reservations. After an hour I asked her what was going on. She says "Oh I'm sorry, you can sit at the bar". I asked for a table because I'm still healing up from a cancer surgery. Another 20 minutes waiting. I finally gave up. Not cool. What a let down. So bummed.

We went for lunch and very few tables were filled. The waitress recommended a daily special, hogfish and my husband got the square grouper sandwich. I liked my hogfish more than the grouper. Usually, I can’t finish a meal and take 1/2 home but the portion size was small enough for me to finish my meal. The salad that came with my meal was room temperature. I would have sent it back but our waitress was not in sight and I was very hungry so I ate it Our water glasses were not refilled even though other tables had theirs filled. My husband wasn’t asked if he wanted another beer. I like having white cloth napkins and the aquarium full of lion fish was interesting. I like Coke products but they serve Pepsi. Nice place.

Passed this place every time we frequented Key West, finally stopped last night. GREAT EXPERIENCE! From the eclectic menu that has virtually something for everyone to the insanely fresh seafood, this is a must do if passing through Cudjoe Key (<30 mins from Key West). Our meal began with joining the waitlist online from the comfort of our vacation home. Upon arriving to a packed lot, we were thrilled that we had a short wait due to the online waitlist. Next, the service. The bartender was extremely vigilant as we waited for our table and kept us well hydrated. Beer, wine, and full bar are a plus. Wine list was VERY good with many higher end half bottles, a joy when only one person drinks wine. Craft cocktails on the menu looked amazing. Our server, Gabby, is a fabulous asset to this place. Knowledgeable about the menu, very attentive to our needs (I drink a lot of water-she kept me full!), and just a pleasant server who represents this establishment very well. The food was hands down some of the best we’ve had in the keys. The tuna bowl was fresh, prepared perfectly and paired with fresh ingredients. The swordfish was so fresh that the taste was perfection. The key lime pie was not to be missed!!! Do yourself a favor and plan a trip to this unique place. The food, the people, and the drinks are each worth the trip!!!

It was an absolute pleasure to grab a quick bite and adult beverage here at TSG. Very professional staff and our bar tender was awesome. We had the Square Grouper sandwich and Blackened fish tacos which were amazing. Looking forward to going back ???????
