I dont believe I've ever been left speechless...until today. After speaking to the wonderful woman behind the counter ( Cynthia) about good , old school soul food that grandma used to make...she put it in my hands. Ive been all over searching for this and im so glad to have found it.

I loved my experience here- the food is absolutely delicious and you can taste the layers of flavor that come from recipes that go way back -combined with the love these people are putting into this business (that’s what I felt).Cute corner location.. warm feel all around.Look forward to another visit next time I pass throughVegetarian options: Offers a wide variety of vegetarian options including a 3 or 4 item vegetable plate, 10$, 12$ respectively.

We are new to Daytona Beach (since 2020) and was missing our family's home cooked meals. Then low and behold, we stumbled on a gold mine....Ms. Cynthia at the Soul Food Restaurant on MLK off Orange. Wow, Omgoodness... the food was so amazing and we walked in 15 minutes before closing. Ms. Cynthia is the cook and such a kind, and beautiful person and soul. We were so blessed by her on so many levels. This is the "best meal" we have had in Daytona. And definitely the best soul food I have had (even better than Sylvia's in Harlem, NY in my opinion-no kidding- I am picky). (In last 9 months, we've had to eat out daily due to the 2022's hurricane hurricanes-so I am a self proclaimed food critic,okay?) So it was a treat and a blessing to come across Soul Food. Fyi, we tried fish, hen, mac & cheese, green beans, greens, cabbage, black eye peas, and yams..10, 10,10,10,10,10,10,10, and 10. We now plan to eat there every Sunday going forward! This is a must do. You will feel right at home and you will feel the love that Ms. Cynthia puts in her food. So glad to have found this place. This will be a must do for all of our out of town visitors. Can't wait to visit the new spot in a couple of months.
The b**** that work at the counter is actually the owner I would never recommend this place I didn't even get to order my food because this b**** wanted to explain why she have this d*** a** sign up and I said I was ready to order and she continued to be delusional and talk about why she had this d*** sign up. Now it makes sense you can tell from her attitude why she wrote that this is why Black people should never owned businesses especially d*** ones. And no I wasn't on my phone this b**** just wanted to talk.

Customer service is trash. The woman Cynthia is a rude individual, energy was dark, not inviting at all. We will never go there again. Aside from it being in the heart of the hood, this place is a death trap. Way too much confrontation for crappy southern "soul food". I'd rather have Popeyes. The food, service and environment are all top tier compared to this place. Don't waste your time nor money. Over priced for the quality.

I had it on DoorDash but it came soggy but the flavor of the wings were good so I figured I give em a second chance but this time I tried to call for pick up I told the cashier my order but for some odd reason he wouldn’t repeat it back to me …strange ..maybe a ego thing ..but I went back and forth just trying to make sure I don’t forget anything but he refused to repeat it …definitely lost a customer …it’s sad when good businesses hire poor employees who don’t hold the standards of the food or business ??????

This location appeared during my Google search while I was in the neighborhood. When I asked an elderly woman in a nearby grocery where I could find wonderful soul food, she verified it. The portions are large, and the proprietor was quite kind. I'm very happy I came across this area.
