Hands down the worst food experience ever. We were looking for a late breakfast place when traveling through the area. Checked reviews and they were good so we went in.
Sat quickly and liked the menu.
I had a Monte Christo while my wife had pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon. While mine looked good, it was extremely salty and the French toast had no flavor, but it was edible. Her's on the other hand was disgusting. The pancakes tasted old and... Mildewy. She thought it may have been some vanilla flavoring. Either way it was inedible. I'm not a picky eater and took one bite and had to spit it out. The "crispy" bacon was limp, greasy, and cold. The eggs were brown with burnt grease that only comes from a dirty griddle.
We left our plates uneaten and got the check. The waitress never even asked us why it was uneaten.
We found several better choices to the north.
The only thing this place is famous for is lousy food.

Great little diner, which is rare to find down here. They have a bakery in the back, and their bread is baked fresh every morning and is delicious. Real homemade goods. Great burgers and pancakes.
Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu with all the classics.

I was really looking forward to trying Steve's Famous Diner for a while, but unfortunately, my experience today was disappointing. I ordered the steak and it was tough and completely lacked flavor. I had to use a lot of salt and pepper just to make it somewhat edible, but I ended up leaving more than half of it. My mom ordered the French toast, and it tasted weird—something just seemed off with it. She did not like the taste of it nor the ham. We were hoping for a better meal, and I was even excited about trying one of the desserts from the display, but after our food, I decided not to bother. I had coffe and hot chocolate, but had to ask for water, which i guess they dont bring you unless you ask...
Sadly, I won't be returning.

Some of the best food and service I have ever had!! Very Large portions and chef Christos and the staff are genuine people and clearly love what they do. I would give it 6 stars if google would let me.
