Booked a room here for the National Dance & Cheer Championships. Pictures on site looked very nice. Don't be fooled!!!! We stayed in room 101, for 1 night @ $350, and it was probably one of the worst hotels I've stayed at. Room was super old, it even smelled old. Pillow cases has stains, my feet for dirty from the floor, ceiling in bathroom was caving in. I didn't even want to touch anything. If it hadn't been a busy week in Daytona, I would have left and found somewhere else to stay. Didn't notice the little bugs everywhere until morning. This makes Motel 6 seem like a Hilton. I wish I took photos for all to see.

Affordable and good food, well worth getting breakfast at. Butter and syrup are conveniently provided on the table.

Not only does this hotel give you discounts for being a Florida resident, but also for returning as a loyal customer. My husband and I stayed last minute for one night, and the customer service was way beyond our expectations. Jackie is the bomb.com! Thank you for treating us so well! On top of the excellent customer service, the rooms were clean and well maintained, along with the perfect view for the morning sunrise. There are two pools, one indoor heated, the other outdoor, and a super reasonably priced Cafe. I was really impressed with the experience and pricing of everything. Thank you for a wonderful visit, we will totally return!!!

We really only booked this hotel out of necessity for the event in town. And MAN do I regret it!!! First of all WHAT KIND OF HOTEL DOESN'T HAVE SIGNAGE I could understand it if they were under construction but it's pretty ridiculous when you have to use the neighboring hotels sign to find your hotel. The ladies at the check in were disorganized. I'm not too mad about this because it is biketoberfest and it's busy. I feel as if the hotel website should mention the adjoining rooms but since it didn't the desk clerk DEFINITELY should have said something about the connection to the room next door when we checked in. The room had a weird smell when we came in which I'm gonna chalk up to the chemicals used to clean.(I hope) I would have preferred if there was a TV guide in the room. The beds weren't very comfortable. The comforter on one of the beds had a stain on it. The drawers on the nightstand and dresser are hard to open. VERY limited outlets for charging devices we had to unplug the lamp and the clock to be able to charge our phones for the night and then the plugs kept falling out of the outlets. Even though we were on a higher floor the balcony had no lock AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!! not on the handle, nothing to put on the back of the door to prevent it opening. And speaking of the balcony it was in disrepair. Cracks, air bubbles and chips in the material. I was scared to step out there!!!

I'd say 2.5 but I can't give half stars. The good, the bad and the ugly: the star of the property is the breakfast cafe! It's not a free breakfast, but it's super affordable and really dependable breakfast spot. They don't serve crepes and croissants, but cooked to order decent breakfast is on tap for sure. We ate there all 3 days- breakfast for 2 was about $23. Omelettes and French toast kinda place. They also have lunch- I had the patty melt one day and it was very good. Only let down was biscuits were rewarded in the microwave and soft. Oh well. This isn't a fancy property. Not resort level, but if you want to take your family to the beach on a budget, this will do fine. Or if I was 40 years younger and wanting a great spot for Spring Break it would be 5 stars. The vinyl coated couch is probably great for that, but had these 2 Senior citizens a little concerned. The view was terrific from the balcony and the hotel itself was quiet- and this was the week of the Daytona 500! Mold in the bathroom, ants in the kitchen were certainly off putting! And the ugly: advertised as both indoor and outdoor pools are heated, but neither one is. There is no heater on the outdoor pool at all and the indoor one is broken. Staff said it's been broken for a while and they don't know when it will be fixed, but not expecting any time soon- sounded more like it's always "broken". A little more money from the owner to bring the property up a bit would go along way. Staff was super nice.

Very friendly, hidden breakfast gem. Its inside the TropicalWinds hotel. Walk thru the lobby towards the ocean and you are there!Food is fair and afforable with good portion sizes. Menu isn't too big and service is fast. We we're one of 2 couples in the restraunt. There's an entrance to the pool deck and ocean. Homefries are boiled and seasoned, meatlovers omlet was big and full of meat. I prefer shredded cheese, they use a cheese sauce. But grear flavor. Definatly going back!Parking: Didn't know where the entrance was. No signage to indicate where to go or park.

A really delightful café on the ground floor of the Tropical Winds Hotel. Very friendly people, and this is a small privately owned café, not owned by the hotel. The servings are quite large and the food was very tasty. We had to get a take-home box for our leftovers. And the price is very affordable as well. Nice view of the pool and beach. Would definitely recommend this hidden gem!!!Kid-friendliness: Very kid and family friendly. Nice people!

This use to be our favorite hotel. The staff was always friendly and took care of the guest. It has been sold to a new owner and everything has changed. The staff was unfriendly, had to ask for towels and washcloths didn't even take the trash out. The manager did her best to fix our stay but to much was wrong she credited us for leaving early. The Cafe that sets inside the hotel has great service and food and treat people as family. Still visit the Cafe but stay somewhere else.

The food was refreshing with a meticulously flavored, home-style cooking. I don’t eat pancakes with butter but here was done spectacularly. The dining area wasn’t big but felt cozy and unique according to the beach environment. Not to mention the closeness to the shore. A revitalizing difference from the bigger more popular restaurants.

I took my grand daughter for her sweet 16 birthday trip since she loves the beach. We checked and right away we saw roaches! I left told front desk and he put us in an “upgraded” room which was same room higher floor. The sheets had stains! I stayed here a few times in the past but they really are rundown now.
