How do I say this…
This was the whitest Mexican food I’ve ever had. I’m not a picky eater. But this was horrible. And the country music threw me off.

LARGE PORTIONS. I guess part on inflation in restaurants is boosting the portion sizes. My wife & I should have only ordered 1 entree. The appetizers seem to be meant for 3 or 4.
Lively place, not quiet. Excellent foid, flavors, presentation. Just wish we were able to store leftovers...

1/20/26 This was my go to place when I wanted good Mexican food. Now it is loud music and bingo. The menu took away the 3 things that I alternate getting. I tried the Tostado tonight with pork. Not sure if it was pork or chicken. All you could taste was lettuce. No flavor what so ever. I had a margarita, I normally have 3, but it was missing the tequila. So, I gave up and paid my $31 bill and left. My last visit here. Sad to see a good restaurant slap on fresh paint and kill a good establishment............I was a 4 year regular customer.

Went with some friends… pretty quiet bc it was middle of the day on a Tuesday. Service was prompt, waitress friendly, nachos were SO GOOD… some of the best we’ve ever had. Decor is cozy and inviting. Loved the vibes of this place and will be back for sure!

Excellent service and great food! I come here a couple times a month and it’s always a great experience. No other Mexican restaurant compares to Baja Cafe in the area.

I have been eating here for over 20 years and I can honestly say that I absolutely love it. More importantly it has always been consistent and that is very important in the restaurant industry. I have tried multiple things on the menu and love them all but I always go back to my favorite, The Shredded Beef Chimichanga. It is hands down the best I have ever had. Also, I really love the refried beans. They season them when they cook them Unlike other restaurants and it definitely sets them apart. This is a great place to bring the whole family and they love kids there. Food is amazing every time. Always a great time when we come and we will continue to be regulars.

We visited Baja Cafe with hopes of enjoying a flavorful Mexican meal but left underwhelmed by both the food and the service. While the ambiance was lively, the experience didn’t live up to expectations.

We ordered a 3-taco plate: Chicken Tinga, Asada, and Carnitas. The Asada taco was solid—well-seasoned and satisfying. The Carnitas were decent, though nothing memorable. But the Chicken Tinga was a letdown. It tasted more like shredded chicken with cumin than the rich, smoky, chipotle-tomato-based flavor that defines true tinga. It was clear the chef missed the mark on this classic.

The meat quesadilla, however, was the highlight of the meal. Perfectly cooked, with tender, juicy meat and melted cheese that hit the spot.

We also tried a Margarita, which was average at best—nothing to rave about, but drinkable.

Service was just okay. Not rude, but not particularly attentive either. What really soured the experience were two charges that felt absurd:

$2.99 for a green sauce that was supposed to be spicy but tasted like watered-down green peppers with zero flavor.

A 2.7% surcharge for using a credit card, which wasn’t clearly disclosed upfront.

These small details added up, and unfortunately, they overshadowed the few bright spots. Overall, we’re giving Baja Cafe 2 stars. Not terrible, but not worth a return visit.
