This place is fantastic! Istarted out with the veggie soup, which truly warmed my soul. We had several rolls, a tuna tataki, and some uni - all of the fish was fresh and prepared with love.Even though we were full, we decided to do a green tea ice cream for dessert and was lovely! I feel the pricing for what we ordered was reasonable, and the atmosphere/staff was all very nice. I will definitely be coming back!

This place was incredible. You’re greeted by the very kind staff when you walk in and we got to sit where ever we wanted. The sashimi was so fresh and not fishy at all. The salmon melts in your mouth. The ceviche was perfect and had great flavor. I ordered the tuna heart roll which was very good and pretty! My sister ordered the tonkatsu ramen which she said was very good. Very creamy broth and good pork on top. This was hands down the best sushi I’ve ever had. My favorite used to be wegmans sushi, but this takes the cake!

First time, tried some hand rolls and takoyaki. Server boasted the best sushi, but came after a lengthy wait quite mediocre. Prices are great, but quality of what was tried between me and my company came with very high expectations that weren't met. Will try other items to see if this current rating stands.

BEWARE, I had the spicy tuna hand roll on Tuesday night, it put me in the hospital for two days. I knew something was wrong when I saw fruit flies flying around my sushi. Dr said it had to be bad sushi, because I went to bed fine and walk in the middle of night violently vomiting and diarrhea , had a cat scan at ER and I had inflammation in the intestines.

Excellent authentic Japanese dining experience! Every dish was flavorful and satisfying. The sashimi was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The presentation of each dish was impeccable, and the service was attentive and friendly. Overall, Masamune exceeded my expectations, and I can't wait to dine there again!

We came here a friend and I we were skeptical because of a shopping center but food was delicious. We both got spicy salmon rolls so good and moist. Then we both got Yakiudon with beef it was so good noodles so moist and smooth. Saving this for next time I'm in town.

Had take out, rolls and an entree dish. Entirely forgettable. Rolls reminded me of supermarket rolls.

Unfortunately, I had a rotten experience at this restaurant! I'd had a busy, successful day and I wanted to treat myself to what I thought it would be a delicious sushi meal. That was not to happen! I ordered a hand roll which was handed to me by a bare hand wet & with no glove! the assistant chef mumbled he had gone ahead and put the wasabi, and ginger inside? This took me by surprise.. I grabbed a plate and had him put the roll on the plate. I'm sure this is a violation of a health code, which are pretty strict on restaurants!! Anyway, the roll was tiny and tasted terrible.. & from what I understand about the Japanese culture and eating sushi, The patron is supposed to add wasabi to the soy sauce, and the patron is supposed to eat the ginger between the different bites of different fish and sushi. That is what the purpose of the ginger is : to clean your palate. I didn't like this at all from the start! Looking back on what happened I realize I should've just left at that moment but I was famished, so hold on ! it gets worse.. It seems this restaurant is under new management. I used to go here a few years ago and everything was quite different. . They have since done a little bit of decorating, and it does look brighter and cleaner, but the attitude is not. It is sorely lacking in grace and in good manners.. the new owner is a sushi chef, who has a misogynist attitude. He is not friendly, unless you are a couple. He has actually a snotty attitude. an overrated opinion about himself, and only caters to people who he knows are going to spend a ton of money. This goes against my grain! I had already decided that I had made a big mistake coming here and that I was never coming back Plus, it's the trickle down effect, and there was a couple sitting there at the sushi bar who seem to be regular customer. They are rude also! Interrupting conversations of other couples when they overhear something & being pushy, aggressive, obnoxious, and loud!! This sushi chef, who is the owner paid a lot of attention to them. Wow !! Again I wish I had just gotten up and left. But it was late and I was hungry! I asked for three pieces of sashimi: the yellowtail or Hamachi, as it's called, had brown unsightly edges on the top. They were very thin slices. I also had salmon. This was curled up in a ball and cut on the outside. It's the smallest piece of salmon I ever had, and also rather tasteless. I understand that this was supposed to be a delicacy, but I had not asked for that. Next on the plate was the tuna. It was a very dark red looked like it had been lying around for a while, and again, not delicious!? it was not served on a bed of ice like some of my favorite Japanese restaurants do? It looked like it was kind of flopping around on the plate with a small pile of shredded something or other. The only decent thing I ate that night were the fried oysters which are done very well by their kitchen not the sushi chef. During this whole episode I felt like I was between heaven and hell. There was a lovely couple I was sitting directly next to who were very sweet and then there was the terrible couple who kept interrupting our conversation, who were unattractive inside and out, and who were very invasively attacking my personal space.. As you know, the saying, "no good deed goes unpunished" ? I so regretted having stepped through those doors of this Japanese restaurant!! When the check came for this horrible gastronomic experience it was over $80!! I had been charged $50 for three brown edged thinly sliced yellowtail three tiny curled up salmon and three brownish small pieces of tuna.... To tell you the truth, I couldn't wait to get home after this horrible experience !! I certainly would not recommend going to this restaurant. Probably the owner is going to respond to my review with the apology or even a nasty remark, but he should've been nicer to me when I was there!! Thank you and I hope that there's gonna be another happier sushi experience in the future for me

It's been some time since the whole family's banded together for dinner. My sister, being the one with exotic taste, suggested that we'd all meet up at Masamune Japanese restaurant! Going inside, the restaurant was full, but the wait was only 10-15 minutes. For dinner we ordered 1x us-1 dynamite roll (tempura shrimp, avocado, crunchy with dynamite torched on top), 1x beef hotpot, 4x bluefin tuna rolls, 4x fatty wahoo rolls, 1x order fried chicken, 1x jalpaneo Hamachi, 1x plate of pickled veggies, 1x tuna tower; 1x agedashi tofu, 1x fried needle fish, 1x ginger salad; and 1x banana tempura ice cream sundae. Going into my review, this was a tough one as someone aspects of tonight's meal were superb, and other kinda fell flat. On the plus side; the beef hot pot possessed a savory and tangy kimichi based broth with tender veggies, soft tofu, runny egg, and tender meat. The bluefin tuna rolls packed nice flavor as these were fatty and savory; wahoo was fresh too. Favorite fish of the night was the Hamachi. The hamachi itself was very creamy and came with a subtly sweet and spicy jalapeño soy sauce! The agedashi tofu was excellent; savory soy sauce with crispy yet super soft tofu; what a treat! The tempura banana ice cream (hard to mess up) came with nicely battered bananas and creamy ice cream. On the con side; the US-1 roll for whatever reason just felt pretty mid as there wasn't much contrast between the different flavors. The pickled veggies were interesting, but overall, they didn't pack much flavor except for the yellow daikon and wasabi infused cucumber I guess. The tuna tower was a big letdown as the fish surprisingly was too fatty and didn't taste so fresh either. The needle fish wasn't as fishy as you'd think and tasted like mini white fish chips; these were just ok. The fried chicken was kinda chewy, and the exterior coating was bland. Lastly, the ginger salad had fresh greens and veg, but felt a bit on dry side. Overall, there were many different dishes we ordered tonight, and surely plenty that we didn't. But based on our experience, the food felt above average which is why we'd probably give Masamune 3.5/5 stars.

The staff was very generous and kind, the fact that we were extremely hungry around midnight the service was excellent. The price was reasonable and the miso soup was SO delicious, I ordered it twice. It was a very cozy and homey atmosphere, a good place to try Authentic Japanese Food for late night cravings.
