Sumo Japanese Restaurant

...what I can say...its been an hour how we are waiting for delivery...its still not here...very bad delivery service!!!!

Perhaps sumo has a new sushi chef because the quality has gone down in the past few months. Twice recently I have been in and had bones in my salmon. I get it’s always a possibility, but there’s plenty of other sushi places that I’ve never had a bone. Disappointing.

This is my go-to spot for sushi. I always get the Lava Rolls. The portions are always generous, and the service is top notch. Whether I’m dining in or taking it to go, it never disappoints. Highly recommended.

Good sushi nice price

Had the sushi and sashimi lunch combo. Fish was fresh, the rice was perfect and never fell apart. Vibe was very comfortable with excellent music selection. Very clean. Definitely recommend for lunch or a chill evening.

I ordered a dish to go and asked for no onions. The lady brought the food out and about 10 mins later stating they made it with onions so she wanted to fix it. They brought it in the back and brought it back out 5 minutes later. I brought the food home, there was still onions in it.

I wanted to leave a good review but it just peeves me that she said they were remaking it but they didnt. They brought it in the back, picked through it to get the onions out (which they missed a lot of them), and then gave it back to me. Thats unacceptable.

8th time here I usually come with a big group and have a birthday. Food always been great on the sushi side, but lately with the soup, it has been more vegetables than the seafood provided as a main for the soup. I will be back again to order the same, hopefully we have a better experience. They gave a 10% discount, but ai rather have great food than a discounted meal.

We ordered for the first time last night via Instacart/Uber Eats and we were blown away!
To start the delivery and timing on a friday night was exceptional! Second but most importantly..the food! The food was delicious, big portions and it was packed to perfection (they even included an ice pack to kept the sushi and tuna cold)
Everything was fresh, I loved that they were thoughtful and included different sauces and enough side items (ginger, wasabi etc) to ensure we had everything we needed.
We ordered the salmon platter, tuna poke bowl and veggie tempura.

We normally don’t order sushi to go after a bad experience with another local place but Instacart had a restaurant promo so why not! I am so glad we did and we will order again soon!

When I usually order sushi from restaurants around Boca Raton the portion sizes aren't always the greatest, so I tend to order an extra roll/handroll just in case. I asked for the Jasmine roll, spicy salmon, and a spicy tuna handroll; they did not disappoint. Extremely pleased with the amount of good sushi and the freshness and quality that they gave to me and my wife. The order was placed around 9:45 PM, mind you they close at 10:30 PM that evening. The staff was extremely nice and professional over the phone and the restaurant when we went to pick up the order. I also asked for a little extra eel sauce and spicy mayo, (god forbid if we came home without the extra sauces I would be sleeping outside), offered to pay any extra cost, and was given to me on the spot. Very nice and cozy sushi spot and they also offer many hot plates and entrees of Japanese cuisine. Highly recommend, but keep in mind the inside dining tables and sushi bar do not seat many people. I would call ahead if you are coming with a small or decent crowd. Thank you again for a great sushi experience 👍.

I ordered food to go, what a joke. The rolls were very small, each roll has a different size, the items inside the roll so small, could barely taste it. Volcano roll came with a huge piece of plastic inside ALL the rolls. It was disgusting. This place used to be good a few years ago. Now it’s terrible.
