It's a great quick place to stop off to enjoy a nice buffet friendly staff for sure. I was there 30 minutes before the seafood buffet started, so I told the waitress I would wait around and get my second plate off of the seafood buffet it was very nice.

Delicious homecooked meals!! I wish we had a spot like these one back in Texas.Let me tell you, that fried chicken ? is well seasoned NOT greasy at all, chicken & dumplings is well seasoned, and I can go on and on... customer service is great!! This place is a hidden gem ❤

The food was ok, nothing special but the service was very friendly and welcoming. We arrived later (close to closing time) and our server had worked all day (we asked her) but she was excellent the entire time. We'll go back just because of that.

Would have given 5 stars for their breakfast if they were open every day for breakfast. However, breakfast was delicious. They had piles and piles of freshly cooked crispy bacon. Several different types of sausage, pancakes, french toast, eggs cheese grits, and regular grits. The tomato gravy and biscuits were my favorite thing. If you haven't tried their breakfast you need too.

Great food for the price & good ice cream. On Friday & Saturday nights they have seafood, love the fried oysters. Wednesday nights they have shrimp night. Great salad bar too. Check them out!

Owner is very nice and the rest of the staff except our waitress but great food and definitely be back.

Went last Sunday and was very crowded. We were finally seated in the back dining room which smelled like wet smelly carpet. None of the staff seemed very happy to be there. Since we had never been there I asked to see a menu and was told most people just get the buffet. Was obviously discouraged to not oder from the menu. After thinking about it thought it would probably take too long to get food off the menu. We had the buffet and was not impressed and nothing was labeled. As we ate at the table next to us several wait staff put the silverware in napkins and rolled them they seemed to to complaining to each other. The odd part was no one had gloves on while touching all the silverware, not sanitary at all. We ate and left fir the 3 miles back to where we were staying. I barely made it back as my stomach went into horrible cramping, needless to say I spent rest of the evening in the bathroom. I suspect food poisoning!! I will never go back. What a horrible experience and waste of money!! BEWARE PEOPLE!!

Great Steak and Seafood night and reasonably priced for the quality and choice of food. Love it and have been there for supper and breakfast. Never anything but good things at McLains. will miss it when we go back to TEXAS.
