Service was good but food was decent. Don’t get me wrong it was good but definitely lacked flavor for sure. Beans were watery and had no flavor. The rice, delicious!!! Quesabirria tacos lacked flavor, the broth looked delicious but didn’t taste like much.

Great lunch and snack stop! Taco quality is very good and pleasant. Meats are good and taste is delectable. Prices are fair. Servers are fast and attentive. Good attitude in the place. You feel welcome. Bathroom is very clean. Outdoor seats are nice too. Chips and salsa plentiful, though the taste of the salsa could be improved. Salsa is a little bit too tomato based and could use more cilantro and onion. A perfect stop for lunch.

Kitchen is unbelievably slow. If you order take out, arrive at least 20 minutes after they tell you it will be ready. I waited over 30 minutes for a single burrito.Edit: it’s not just on Taco Tuesday. This is about the 100th time it’s happened to me so I finally decided to write a review. The staff is very nice but the kitchen is ALWAYS slow. They have zero sense of urgency and push to-go orders to the back of the line.

The quesabirria tacos are to die for!! I have never sat in this restaurant, I always get the tacos via DoorDash and by the time they get to my house they are still so fresh and delicious so I can only imagine them at the store

The place is good, and the food is good, except that the last time I went my order of tacos did not come out as I had ordered, I ordered two more tacos and they never brought them to me and for such a small business it looks very bad, I mean The best option is to order takeout and check that everything is okay.
I liked it! I ate some traditional tacos with asada and lengua. The lengua was so good ?? the asada was a little dry but the salsa helped it out lol we did go on Christmas eve so i don't blame them. I would definitely go back whenever im in deland again. Have to try some other items on the menu the sopes and quesadillas sounded good, guess we'll find out next time

We are from so cal and this is the ONLY restaurant in the area that comes close to authentic Mexican food on the west coast. Keep up the great work.

Personally, I look for a good bargain when I eat out. I want the food to taste good with good service at a reasonable price. El taco Rico gets all those. I did not give them a five because there to go orders are usually not correct. Two can eat moderate meals for $21. If you just want a couple tacos each the price is about $16 with a drink. Everything is made to order and the food is not overly greasy as some Mexican restaurants are. It seems to be a family run business Operated by people who do care about their customers. The grade of the meat in the tacos is above average for sure.
