We stopped into The Elusive Grape after dinner on a Saturday night for a bottle of wine. We sat at the bar, played cards, and enjoyed the relaxed local crowd and live music. It’s clearly a neighborhood favorite and people seemed right at home.

The space itself is a bit cluttered and quirky, with mismatched furniture that somehow works and makes it feel cozy. The multicolored string lights are a little tacky but the slightly worn look give it a casual charm, though it could use a little sprucing up. The layout is unusual but adds to its personality.

They have a solid wine selection and great service, but I do wish they’d upgrade their glassware. The thick, heavy glasses with bulbous rims take away from the wine experience. It wouldn’t take much to offer proper, restaurant-quality tulip-shaped stemware with thin glass that really lets the wine shine.

But overall, it’s a great spot for a laid-back evening with good wine and local music. We didn’t try the food.

Great ambience.... really does feel like you're in a friend's living room but acoustics are horrible...ceilings are too high. Limited menu and it's a set dish...no real options for sides, betc. Extensive wine selection.

This is a must when visiting downtown DeLand. The owner Bill is so civic minded and involved in the community that he and his establishment are a must visit. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff and the food is great!

The wine selections were not the best. We ordered a charcuterie boards that was ridiculously expensive, $35 for a ton of crackers, about 10 grapes, a few pieces of shaved warm and a little pile of what ever they scruncup on a corner....THAT WAS IT,! I asked wete the picked peppers, the giant capers and other pickled stuff that they USED to offer were, along with the slices of cheddar and Swiss...they wetr all a no show. I was told that they were ALL OUT! Yet, they served a substandard POS worth $5.00 and all we got was: we are sorry, we ate out of the elements that constitute a Charcutery....oh yea, no salami eother....I will never order food to jg ere AGAIN! ALSO, take a look at their food prices, they think they are Shula's ....ridiculous. Needless to say, we returned the $35 CRACKER, 6 GRARES AND 6 OLIVES.....DON'T EVET ORDER FOOD THERE, EVER,!!!!!
