What a wonderful experience at Akira Back for a Girl's Night Out. The outside courtyard was delightful. The service was outstanding with the server providing excellent drink and food recommendations along the way. The food did not disappoint and rounded out our beautiful dining experience. Highly recommend Akira Back and Rosewater rooftop bar for after dinner drinks. Thank you for a lovely dining experience.

The food is always excellent. My guests were definitely wowed by the food, ambience and service. Anthony, our server was very knowledgable and helpful with ingredients in the various rolls so that all of us were accommodated.

We got there early and sat at the bar. We sat at the bar for two hours before the hostess came over to tell us she forgot we were there and our table had been ready. While she was playing on her phone not paying attention to anyone. Mind you, we sat directly in front of her at the bar and patiently waited and checked in with her to let her know we were ready. TWO hours we sat there after having reservations and never got our table. Then to find out it's because they “forgot us”. Bartenders were good but we decided to leave after the bar because the restaurant flat out didn't even care they forgot about our reservation and that we were at the bar.

Unfortunately, our experience was very underwhelming. This was meant to be a special treat, and we went all out—ordering all the things: sea urchin truffle bombs, toro tartare, 12oz Wagyu tomahawk, halibut, Japanese mushrooms, and the protein roll. I've had the truffle bombs before and loved them, but this time they were off. The toro (tuna belly) was just meh—lacking the richness and flavor you'd expect. The Wagyu was ordered medium rare but came out closer to medium and was overwhelmingly salty. The halibut was probably the best dish of the night, but the portion was shockingly small—maybe 3 oz at best. The Japanese mushrooms were so salty they were essentially inedible. Even the espressos arrived lukewarm. Both the mushrooms and espressos were comp'd—a $15 adjustment—which felt insignificant given the overall experience. The only real highlights were the drinks: a Camus Sauvignon Blanc that was excellent, along with a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon and Frangelico. After spending $850 (including tip) for three people, this experience was a major disappointment. Sadly, we won't be returning.

Delicious food, energetic atmosphere, pretty good service, high price. We ordered 3 appetizers, one sushi roll and one main course: $275 with tip. I enjoy the restaurant but feel it's a bit overpriced.

Do not recommend. The place is really elegant but looks can be deceiving. Our waiter was not attentive to our table but prioritized other tables, thus resulting in another waiter taking our order. A table was seated way after we arrived and was able to receive their food in a timely manner while we had to speak up for an order to even be placed. I felt that me and my guest were not being properly respected.

From the long wait time to then less than mediocre food, I am extremely disappointed. For the price to be extremely high, I expected way better quality food. The “spicy” miso soup was low quality soup with sriracha sauce. For this to be so utterly distasteful it also did have a long wait time.

For my meal I had the prawns and that was a major let down. I would not recommend this place for any occasion. Ive had better service and quality food at other high-end restaurants. Also, I was celebrating my upcoming birthday as well. Left unsatisfied entirely.

If I could give this restaurant zero stars, I would. While the space itself is very elegant, the experience did not live up to the appearance. From the moment we were seated, it felt like we were treated differently than other guests. Our server was noticeably inattentive to our table while being very engaged and attentive with others around us, which resulted in long wait times and poor service overall. This made the experience uncomfortable and left us feeling overlooked.

When the food finally arrived, it was disappointing at best. Given the extremely high prices, I expected a much higher level of quality. The “spicy” miso soup tasted low-quality, as if sriracha was simply added to basic soup. The miso cod was overly sweet and lacked balance or depth of flavor. None of the dishes justified the cost.

Overall, the combination of poor service and underwhelming food left us unsatisfied. I would not recommend this place for any occasion.

Had an amazing birthday party for a close friend at Akira. The staff were very accommodating, fast service, and very nice. Travis was our server this night and he did an incredible job.

Absolutely phenomenal experience from the moment we walked in. Rob was extremely knowledgeable and we ordered all of his recommendations from drinks to dessert. Thank you Rob and all of the staff. We will be back!

We had an amazing evening at Akura Back Restaurant. The food was absolutely outstanding — every dish was perfectly prepared. The wine list was impressive, with plenty of options for every taste and preference.

We had a small issue, but the managers handled it very professionally and resolved it quickly. A special thank you to Michael and Losan for their attention and excellent service — they truly made our evening special.

This is one of those places where the flavors, the presentation, and the service always shine. Everything just feels right every time you go. And don’t leave without ordering the two must-haves: the tuna pizza and the short rib, they’re always a hit. It’s also a great spot for a double date, with the perfect mix of good food and a fun atmosphere. We always make reservation to go.

We dinned with one other couple. The server was friendly and informative and explained things are served tapas style for the table. I explained to him that we want separate checks as we are ordering independently from the other couple. Yet they only served the other couples food, my wife and I sat with empty plates the entire evening. Finally my wife's entree arrived after the other couple were finished eating. My entree never arrived. I explained to two different servers that I was hungry and our “starter” never arrived and either did my entree. They offered to get me some white rice or soup while I waited. That never arrived either... 20 minutes later after my wife was finished with her entree, my entree arrived with the side of white rice that was supposed to hold me over while I waited. Our tuna pizza also arrived with my entree. The server denied accountability by saying it's “tapas style” and that he put the order in all at once. However we explained to him that tapas wouldn't work at the beginning because it's separate checks... When there are entrees on a menu, serve them with other entrees, pretty simple, yet they had a hard time doing that. the entire situation was annoying. The food was good but the portions were very small for the price charged, so I felt no real value for what they gave. Nice atmosphere and the servers were friendly over all, but friendliness and effectiveness are two different things.
