It's a shame I love blue anchor but was very disappointed when I had an awful pour of stout that definitely tasted funky like it was not clean. The bartender did not offer to replace the drink. I would still like to go here again but will likely get a different drink.

Downtown Delray Beach pub. It's been around for years. A real local favorite with a huge beer and ale offerings and a good kitchen. Unlike other restaurants in downtown Delray Beach, the Blue Anchor is unique and one of the few authentic British style pubs in South Florida.

CLOSED FOR DEAD MICE ON BAR FLOOR AND HUNDREDS OF DROPPINGS ON GLASSWARE. This was reported today in the Sun Sentinel. I will NEVER go here again. You shouldn't either! Zero excuses for this.

There is a notice on the door that the establishment should be closed for public health and safety, but appears to still be operating. We had drinks there on 12/21 and did not see the sign until walking past today. A google search indicates they should be closed due to rat droppings.

Walked in for the interest of the history behind the bar and received the warmth and welcoming nature of the staff and owner. Enjoyed the King Fish N Chips that is completely shareable with a date.

The aesthetic does bring you back to 1864. The location is also pet friendly, regardless of pet size essentially.

Definitely coming back when in the area again.

Drink was expensive but weak. Typical pub which smells like stale beer and vomit.

The horrible hostess went off on me for no reason whatsoever. The waitess was fine, drinks were good, food was good. Bizarre. I was talking to my husband and she butted in with rude behavior. It was so crazy. I can't even begin to explain. I've never experienced anything like it in my life.

Service was very slow and the drinks weren't very good. Was going to order food until I saw a couple of rats scurrying around at the end of the bar.

The Blue Anchor British Pub was a laid-back stop where I kept things simple with a beer and fries. It’s got that classic British pub vibe, cozy and unpretentious, the kind of place where comfort food feels just right. Nothing fancy, just easygoing atmosphere, hearty bites, and a pint in hand—exactly what you’d expect from a spot built on tradition and familiarity.

I was really excited to try this place since we were visiting the area for the first time. We planned to eat dinner here, found a place at the end of the bar by the kitchen. My fiancé ordered a black and tan, which the bartender seemed a little confused by. I ordered a vodka soda cran which tasted like there was 0% vodka. Service was very slow, but we ended up being thankful for this.
It smelled a little bad where we were sitting so I started debating if I wanted to eat there. I could see into the kitchen which looked clean enough, just old building. While waiting to order my fiancé saw 2 rats scurrying up by the ceiling. This was not in the kitchen, but above the other side of the bar. Mind you the music was pretty loud and it was a full bar, so I can only imagine how many there must be when it is closed and quiet in there.
We ended up tabbing out and going elsewhere to eat. It was just under $20 for our 2 drinks.
Other than the slow service and rats the place is very cute, true British pub vibe.

There are now two places in Florida that I will travel 1,800 miles just to satisfy a craving, and The Blue Anchor Pub just became the second.
Peggy is one of, if not the most knowledgeable Bartenders I've ever met and quite the historian as well!!

It is VERY rare to find a place that still makes EVERYTHING from scratch and oh my do they do a wonderful job! The Fish and Chips was superb and their house Bloody Mary & Hot Sauce made up one on the best drinks I've had in twenty years.

Thank you so much!!
