Be aware that they don’t advertise correct prices. They raised everything almost a dollar did not tell me until payment and they told me they have old menus. They charge seven dollars for a cup of soup. And they now charge $5.30 for a bagel and cream cheese. It also takes ridiculously long to get your order. How hard is it to toast a bagel and cream cheese and pour a cup of soup… they are not even busy.
Been looking for this vibe. Pleasant and organized. Fresh! Delish! Nice dining area plenty of seating. Outdoor tables available too. Coffee 6/10 menu selection excellent- Bagels- yay! Hand sliced Nova- banging. 10/10 will return 100% so happy!
I am from New England. To be specific, from Cape Cod. After moving to south Florida a few years ago, one of our primary missions has been to find good fresh seafood (at a reasonable price) like we had on the Cape. We have looked everywhere. Finally we came across Brighton Beach Bagel in Delray. The owners are experienced restauranteurs from New England. The seafood menu is authentic and the food is absolutely delicious. We can get great NE Clam Chowder!!! The fried clams and lobster rolls are awesome!! I highly recommend BBB&B!
A friend told us about the seafood at Brighton Beach Bagel & Bakery, so that is what we went to try. This place is not fancy but it was clean. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. Everyone was friendly. The food was served hot and as ordered. It was very good and it was nice to find a place with whole belly clams, outside of New England. Our group ordered a lobster salad sandwich (medium size), New England clam chowder and clam cakes, fried whole belly clams and a grilled chicken sandwich. Everything was tasty. Clam cakes were a little dense, but still very good. I looked at what they had at the bakery, but did not buy anything. It was about 6:30 so the bakery cases were not as full as they probably were in the morning, but what they had looked good - especially the Linzer cookies, which I will go back to buy. We thought everything was reasonably priced and we will go back.
Bagels are OK. Definitely much better places around. Ordered 2 egg special. All you could taste was the cooking spray they use on the grill. Taste was so strong we had to throw them away. Always check your order. They are known to forget something. And yes, they forgot 1 of 3 bagels. I have given this place chance after chance to impress. Yet they continue to make the same mistakes. The only reason they are still open is location. Close to retirement communities with people who like "ok" food that is a short drive. If your a local or just a visitor I highly recommend moving on and trying some other amazing breakfest/bagel spots around town.
The gentleman taking my order was very personable and his customer service is the only reason I gave this place 3 stars or else it would have been lower. Some boss lady working there was snapping back at him for no good reason and his calm demeanor was admirable. I ordered the special of the day to-go: a medium size lobster roll with one side (I chose onion rings). The lobster looked like it was literally just slung in the roll, all haphazardly placed. No seasoning, no mayo, no flavor, no butter on the roll, nothing (wish I took a picture because it didn't look like the ones others posted)...the barely toasted bread roll was so stale it literally fell apart when trying to pick it up. The lobster had a slight funky chemical taste to it like a type of cleaner product. And the onion rings tasted like they had been sitting under a heat lamp, mediocre at best, tepid temp and not crunchy. For expensive amount I paid I have serious buyers remorse though South Florida has some of the consistently worst restaurants so I'm not surprised. First time, last time.
The menu and food is pretty good but they are understaffed and run slow. One guy will call back asking for line support or to take phone orders and it usually takes awhile before he gets it. One time I heard one of the older lady employees tell him “people will wait” when he called back saying the line was getting long. If you come prepare to wait at least 20-30 minutes before you order and get your food. When they are busy, orders usually come out wrong, my husband ordered Taylor ham on his breakfast sandwich, all he got was an egg and cheese. I ordered fries with my lobster roll and it came out with coleslaw. You get a very generous portion of lobster on the regular roll. I was pleasantly surprised. If they could keep the line moving and were a little more consistent, we would be regulars.
Ate dinner there. Their lobster rolls are the best around. They have 3 different sizes. The middle, called jumbo, was more than enough for me. They come with a side. Definitely recommend
What happened to this place? Our last couple visits the food has been terrible and a complete disappointment!!!!!!!!!
Merely decent... Not great..pastrami is 6.5/10 stars compared to real NYC deli, corned beef also 6.5 of 10.Fries are 8.5/10Bagels are dry and not chewy... 5/10Baked salmon is 6.5/10All foods (other than the French fries) came in cold or not hot enough.Be prepared for a long line at lunchtime,. This is a place your order, pay, and then sit down with your table number and wait for delivery .

I gave you a two rating because the people who take the order are really not very friendly. I understand that in South Florida a lot of older people are really nasty to the employees there and I get that. But there are those from out of the state that come in and don't expect to be treated like garbage.
Place has changed to me from New York style bagel to a beach seafood and specialty shop. While the bagels are prominent, the lunch and dinner menus consist of different types of fried seafood. The Fisherman combo has just about all the offerings in one healthy meal. I bought my lox and cream cheese separately from the choice of bagels with lox. I had 4 ounces of lox with almost unlimited cream cheese on a fresh bagel. I also was able to obtain Dr Brown Diet Cream Soda.
Ordered a to go 2 bagels + one toasted with cream cheese, one bowl of matzo ball soup and a coffee. The woman who took order was non smiling non communities. First got my name called for two bagel, there was no coffee at self serve. 5 minutes later got called for toasted bagel and I asked about soup and snippy wewill call u when ready. After more time I handed the same snippy order taker for refund on soup and she grabbed my receipt and credit card went flying which she thru back to me . When She told the snippy kitchen lady she yelled it's here sitting here. It was on back kitchen and was never brought out or called my name. Maybe the new Yorkers who seem to all be there are used to rude but not us midwesterners. The lobster roll looked great but will never go there again. MINUS ANY STARS
I ordered a pastrami on rye with potato salad and a pickle. Sandwich came with no potato salad or pickle. The bread looked like a regular slice of rye cut thinner on a slicer. It was falling apart. When I complained they sent some snotty woman who was given the wrong reason for my complaint . I said the bread was so thin it was falling apart. She started rambling about how much I spent and how it had 6 oz of meat. I finally got snotty back and said the bread is the problem. How could that not be relayed correctly ? Anyway they brought me another sandwich on normal sliced bread. It was just ok. Meat a little tough. Disappointed. I should have went to 3 G’s deli where the sandwich is always good. I was just in the area and decided to give this place a try. Big mistake. I don’t understand how anyone would find that thin sliced bread appealing. Looks to me like they are trying to save money by slicing the bread to double volume or they were running out of bread and were trying to make it stretch.
My to-go order of 1/2 dozen bagels, black and white cookie, and blueberry muffins were out-of-this-world yummy, but the young woman with the short blonde hair that took my order was incredibly rude to me. No eye contact, no smile, short with me when I was deciding which bagels to get… I even helped her bag my things and I left a $5 tip in the jar and I said to her “Thank you, have a nice day” and she completely ignored me and walked back to the kitchen. I came back in to get some muffins I had forgotten and there was a nice young lady (brunette) that helped me this time. The blonde was still back in the kitchen and then was waiting on tables. I told the brunette to please give her co-worker a hug because she is very obviously having a bad day. (I don’t know if this was the case or if she’s rude like this all of the time.) Either way, she needs to be taught that no matter what you’ve got going on in your personal life, you have to leave that stuff at the door when you come to work. You’ve just got to force that smile on your face and think about how the way you treat others affects their day as well. Needless to say, this was not a happy start to my already stressful day. If I were the manager, I would find an employee who actually enjoys helping others and shows it.
