The food is amazing. The Salmon over black rice in a lobster bisque sauce is just unbelievably delicious. And the mojitos are pretty good as well.

My favorite restaurant in Del Ray. We try to stop in every time we come. Love the paella. Of course we had to have the banana fritters to top it off!

Calamari was hard as a rock. Really bad. ISpinach was good. Paella was dry and rice soft. And the noise was off the charts. The only redeeming part of the meal was our waiter who did a good job.

I enjoyed lunch on the patio at Cabana El Rey, it was a very chill vibe. I opted for the Coco Cabana with Chicken and did not regret it. The lunch serving was large with roasted yuca, broccoli, potatoes and carrots in a coconut habanero sauce, with a tower of yellow rice and chicken. The dish was a slam dunk, kind of a Latin tinged Thai curry. I also tried one of their mojitos which was freshly dressed with all the typical fixings. The vibe on the patio was festive with music piped in. Overall it made for a nice lunch in Delray. My server was attentive and nice.

Let me preface this review by saying that my children's grandparents lived in Hialeah, FL, where the Cuban food is as authentic as you're going to get. We are self proclaimed Cuban Food Snobs! If you don't know what authentic Cuban food tastes like you may be happy with your meal at Cabana. If you are a Cuban Food Connoisseur, Cabana is not a restaurant you should try. My Cuban daughter was visiting from Colorado. Each time she visits she has to satisfy her craving for Cuban food. Since we were in Delray Beach, we decided to try a local restaurant with good reviews. The location is great, right on Atlantic Avenue. The weather was perfect so we sat outside in patio. The restaurant was empty for a Sunday afternoon, we quickly found out why. We ordered the mariquitas and an avocado salad to start. The mariquitas were served with quacamole and what appeared to be an oil based sauce. Definitely not the mojo sauce which is typically served with mariquitas at Cuban restaurants. The avocado salad was a few avocado pieces placed on top of lettuce. If you have ever been to a real Cuban restaurant you know that an avocado salad is well, avocados. My daughter had to ask for oil and vinegar, waitress did not bring any dressing. Customarily, at Cuban restaurants, the infamous Cuban bread is brought to the table as an appetizer. Much like chips and salsa are served at Mexican restaurants. No bread was offered at Cabana so we ordered it off menu. When the bread arrived, we were again disappointed. It was Cuban bread, but not toasted and seasoned as we are used to. My daughter and I ordered grilled chicken with black beans, rice and plantains. Chicken steak at a real Cuban restaurant is typically flattened, seasoned perfectly and served with onions on top. At Cabana we got two thick, bland, grilled, chicken breasts. Cubans are known for their flavor packed black beans. Cabana's black beans were extremely bland. The white rice, which you really can't screw up, looked and tasted like instant rice. I will be honest and say that they got the maduros right. Those were best part of our meal. Our waitress was not very attentive. We had to ask another waiter to get her attention a few times. Again, the restaurant was not very busy so unsure what was going on behind the scenes. Again, if you don't know what authentic Cuban food tastes like, you may like Cabana. If you've eaten Cuban food in Hialeah or Miami, you'll be disappointed.
Always a great place to stop for some sangria and a bite to eat.

This place is great when dining in but when ordering online it’s terrible! This is the second time I place an order online and they don’t see it… I’m not sure what’s going on with the system but please fix it.! I waited 35 minutes and they never got my order…

Server was very inattentive. Sent my chicken meal back because the chicken had no flavor then the drown it in mediocre garlic sauce. Empanadas were soggy but overall good flavor within. The best part was the guacamole and plantain chips. But beware the guac is the amount of 1/2 an avocado (no lie) and they charge $16 for it… some nerve. It was an extremely overpriced dinner for the amount of blah food we received. You’re better off at Chipotle. Won’t be returning.
Wonderful staff.Great food and drinks.
