I’m involved in Big Brother’s Big Sisters. I took my Little here, who is 10 years old. He was in the hospital a few weeks ago and has dietary restrictions. He ordered the coconut shrimp not understanding it’s fried. Once the food came and he told me couldn’t have it, I went back to order him some vegetables and miso soup. The lady at the front who is the manager (Like the mean nurse in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, and said I couldn’t order again unless I waited in line. (1/2 an hour) with my hot food already out. She also said it was my Little’s fault. My Little was looking at coconut shrimp, and didn’t understand that it was fried. I said I’m not trying to return it for money back but we’re already sitting down and there’s hot food on the table and just want him to have something to eat. Those she said are the rules with no exceptions. Two people who work with her, looked at her horrified but she runs this place with an iron fist, and no empathy.Besides that, one has to remember the menu from the menu sign post which is away from check out and order from memory. There is a menu at the stand but she wouldn’t let you see it. It’s a family business and this lady is just on a power trip. Our tables were dirty as well and I had to ask someone else for napkins because the paper napkins are guarded by Nurse Diesel at the front. There is literally a rope with a sign that says do not pass, guarding the precious paper napkins, and soy sauce. They have a monopoly and just a really bad experience for no reason on a nice day. Someone could give her a $100 tip and she still wouldn’t crack a smile.

The sushi in my opinion was not worthy, it taste exactly the same a Publix’s sushi for the same price.

Limited gluten options.Dietary restrictions: Some gluten-free options are available. Would be nice if they came up with a bento box lunch that was fully gluten-free.

It’s been several years since our last visit to the gardens, which are beautiful, but this is about the cafe, before you sat down with a menu and are greeted by a waiter/waitress. Order and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. This time you order at the cash cash register, after a brief look at a menu board, given a number and hope you find a place to sit. The food was very good but I did not have the same feeling of being relaxed, I was going to have two bottles refilled of their wonderfull house salad. I was told I would have to get back in line for that, ( maybe my error). I did not like their new system which works fine for the cafe but not so much for the customer. I really like eating there after enjoying the garden but may rethink that option on my next trip.

After paying for your admission to the gardens, you go through the sliding double doors and the restaurant is to your right. You look at the menu and decide what you want, order and pay at the counter and choose your seat, they bring the food to you. Very peaceful setting. Prices are reasonable. I am sure in the warmer months things can get hot. My aunt and I both got the teriyaki salmon and it was quite delicious. Everything was so fresh.

We love going to the Morikami Japanese museum and gardens. The Cornell Cafe is located at the gardens. Now, you order queueing up and then look for a table. The lady taking orders was quite bossy and unfriendly. We like to sit outside, especially during cool breeze days.We ordered a veggie sushi and a vegetarian bento box. The food was nice and flavorful. Service only to bring or remove plates from your table. It is a nice way of finishing your visit.Vegetarian options: They offer sushi, vegetarian bento box, dumplings and morwParking: There is a large parking lot availableKid-friendliness: High chairs available

Outdoor seating is available as well as inside. We sat outside as the weather was beautiful. The cafe is cafeteria style. You order off a menu as you enter then find a table and your food is brought to you. I had miso soup and the traditional bento box, they also have vegetarian fare available. The food was reasonably priced and well prepared and delicious. If you visit the gardens don't miss eating at the cafe.

We had a great day. The food was really good. The music played set the ambiance. The surrounding park had a very relaxing atmosphere.Vegetarian options: There were several items on the menu that were vegan.Dietary restrictions: My grandmother has a shellfish allergy and was informed which items on the menu that she could eat that weren't cooked in the same oil used for shellfish dishes.Kid-friendliness: You had the option of outside patio or inside with ac. Several children eating while we were dining that seemed to be enjoying their meals.

I'm soo disappointment with the Cornell Cafe. After reading all the other reviews I was expecting soo much. We ordered the chicken bowl (which I forgot a picture of) but it was drenched in teriyaki sauce that was so salty I couldn't even eat it. The chicken egg rolls didn't even have enough chicken to be called that. And the gyoza which were cold and sitting in a soy sauce. The boba tea was good I wish the boba balls were actually I'm guessing overcooked but they couldn't even be chewed. Such a disappointment after reading so many reviews. I love going to Morikami but I will defintely eat before I come next time.

Absolutely delicious! My fiancé and I split a bento box and a taro boba milk tea. The taro milk tea was honestly one of the best ones I've had in a while. Not too sweet but definitely taro packed. With the bento box we were able to try many different things. The teriyaki salmon and chicken were my favorite parts! The teriyaki glaze was delicious. The dumplings and egg rolls were still steaming and so yummy. The sushi, tofu, and shrimp were good, nothing spectacular. The rice was sticky and not hard. The sautéed mixed veggies were actually really good and we devoured them quickly. Plenty of seating indoors and outside on the covered patio. The patio also has some ceiling fans making it a little easier to be out there longer. Staff was super friendly and food came out very quickly. Our drinks were given to us as soon as we ordered, before we chose seating. The cafe is yummy and super convenient!

Delicious Japanese food at very reasonable prices, with a magnificent overview of the lake and gardens. What a treat!
