We grew up in Connecticut, before moving to Florida many years ago, and have fond memories with our family eating Pepe’s in New Haven. Every time I went back to visit, we did our family pilgrimage to Pepe’s. So, of course, when we found out a location opened in Delray, we drove 1.5 hours from Vero Beach to enjoy this amazing pizza and carry on the tradition with our extended family and friends here in Florida. We stumbled upon this place while out on a Sunday drive. We stopped in and was immediately greeted and seated by a gentleman. Our order was taken in a timely fashion and our pie came out in good time...and the pie was okay. It was good, but nothing to write home about. That's where the goodness stopped. I drove down from Port Saint Lucie, and I’m so glad I did. Having tried the New Haven, CT location before, I wanted to compare the two. The moment I opened the box, I knew I couldn’t wait until I got home; I had to enjoy a slice right there in the parking lot. Wow, was that pizza good! The crust, sauce, and toppings were all fresh and full of flavor.
