This place is proof that even on a bougie address like Atlantic Ave in Delray can support a dive bar. The atmosphere is dressed down, as are the staff. The food is pub fare, but elevated with touches like pickled red onions and grill toasted buns. The value is amazing, and the portions are respectable. I normally avoid the Ave due to traffic and cost, but Johnnie brings me back time and again.
Oh, and live music is a big draw.

Old school bar vibe here. Open air seating let's you experience the street life, the trains passing by and soak in the atmosphere. We liked the service. Waitress was very nice. Food wasn't amazing but it's bar food not a 5-Star restaurant. Live music. I liked my time there. Would definitely go back for lunch.

A great corner, near one of the dangerous train crossings in Florida. The ambiance is fun, with good cold beer and delicious food. The sunset is gorgeous from here. Live music is available. Pet friendly 🐾😍

Updating this review because it needed it. The place has improved drastically over the last year or two. Food is good, bartenders are good, music is good. It can be a little too busy at night for my taste, but you can still get a drink. Good stop for day drinking on the Ave!

One of my favorite local watering holes in Delray Beach. They usually have great live music & the bartenders are quick & friendly. A lot of older locals & tourists fo here but you will find groups of wide age ranges, especially on the weekend.

We didn't eat, but we came for drinks and the music. No place on Atlantic Ave has the energy and fun like Johnny Brown's. It was a fantastic night. The band was amazing and the place was packed. So much fun!

Bring back live music karaokes Monday nights!!!! At least for the holidays. This is our family tradition and we were super disappointed to find out they stopped doing this two weeks before Christmas. Giving you five stars, so maybe you will actually listen to me. We love this place dearly and sad to see this not happen anymore. Reasons they said it stopped: wasn’t pulling in a large enough crowd. That’s funny because there was no one there when we went hoping for karaoke. Can’t judge the crowd when it’s off-season in Florida a.k.a. hot summertime…. KARAOKE MONDAYS 💔🎤🎸

We had an amazing New Year’s Eve at Johnnie Brown’s! Travis, one of the managers, was incredibly helpful and made the experience even better. We booked an outdoor table with a perfect view of the band and great people-watching. The entire night was nothing but fun, and every staff member working that evening was friendly and attentive. An awesome way to kick off 2026! 🎉
