I like to be fair when reviewing a local business, but, sometimes, places like Park Tavern just get it wrong when serving our COMMUNITY and Its loyal customers.
Today. On a very cold 39° day, even though I had reservations for 11: 30am indoors. I was offered only outside seating or a 1 hour wait. What's the point of reservations then. I get that the tourist season is on, but, when you bump, your year round residents aside, then, you lose me. Adios Park Tavern. Fortunately, we have many New, Fresh businesses that don't take anyone for granted such as the Beach Club pizza , Geronimo Tequila Bar and Roko Hulu. Competition in Delray Beach is thriving here, and we permanent residents know how to shop the places that give us good service and quality.
The Office lost us last Summer due to poor service, one of your businesses , now Park Tavern.
Don't burn bridges with the customers that keep you afloat when the Snow Birds leave!!! Nuff said

We stumbled across the Park Tavern recently and went in for a happy hour drink (GREAT deal, btw), and found the energy lively but not overwhelming, and the drinks tasty. However, it was the charming, welcoming staff that drew us in the next night for a delicious burger. Highly recommend this place!

Last night I ate dinner at the “Park Tavern” restaurant in Delray and had a mixed experience.

The evening began in a very positive note with the young hostess, who greeted me warmly. She was friendly, hospitable and we bonded over both being from the Midwest and not used to colder FL weather.

The hostess sat me in a wonderful area outside with a heater, but unfortunately, I could not get the attention of three servers who over the next 10 minutes walked right by me. Please train your servers to look to their right and look to their left as opposed to ignoring everybody.

For example, a male server with short light brown hair with a sleeve tattoo ignored my request for service — when I asked if I could get a waiter he basically blew me off, and looked at me as if how dare I stop him from rushing into the nowhere zone of the restaurant. I watched him scurry around for five minutes or so, never going to a table to see if anyone needs anything instead yammering with the hostesses and ignoring everything to his left.

I suggest you you teach this server to wake up from his matrix and recognize that his job is to help a customer have an enjoyable experience, especially when they ask if you can help them get a server and you don’t respond affirmatively.

Thankfully Ainsley, a server who was just finishing waiting on a table (who were sat after me) and just finished ordering their dinner when I asked if I could get some assistance, she didn’t hesitate, she smiled and said “I’d be more than happy to help you.”

Even though it was apparent that Ainsley was not my server, she did not hesitate to understand that I was moments from leaving the restaurant and she completely tuned in to how I’ve been rudely treated and was about to split and never returned. I’m not a snowbird, I live in Delray and enjoy restaurants all over Delray

Ainsley completely saved my dinner experience. She immediately tuned in when I shared how I’d been treated poorly. She checked on me throughout, and made me feel respected and cared for. I ordered a simple cheeseburger and fries; everything was handled smoothly thanks to her.

Given we all know the robots are already here and soon will be Will be integrated as servers within the restaurant world, I
suggest the owners of this restaurant train everybody to be like Ainsley. Any restaurant that cares about its guests should hire more people like Ainsley. She turned a frustrating experience into a positive one — many thanks to her.

Our server, Kevin was great! Friendly and personable while giving us great service! Food and drink were very good. Music was a little loud for my liking but that would be the only thing I would say is a negative.

Food was excellent! I had seen a menu item online and it was no longer on the bench menu. The manager couldn't have been more helpful. He came over and told me which items they had and said he would be happy to make me the omelette as best he could. Service was wonderful! We'll go again!

The food is outstanding, particularly the French fries. On a Saturday night the place is packed. Best to sit outside. The noise level is super loud so you need to speak very loudly to be heard by your dinner companions.

Very crowded and the noise level made it difficult to have a conversation. Good was not very good. I had a tasteless, wilted salad. My husband had a steak and cheese that had a large piece of gristle in it. Not impressed at all.

Our server advised us that everything at this restaurant is made from scratch. We got the prime rib; it was perfectly medium rare and was accompanied by a little skillet of mashed potatoes with a hint of horseradish, and a generous helping of au jus. The only downside was that it was so loud -- and we were seated outside -- that we couldn't comfortably talk. Still, we'll be back and we'll just resign ourselves to people-watching rather than conversing while we enjoy our next meal there. There's usually very good people watching in that area!

What a great place. We had another great meal and our server was terrific. If I had a minor suggestion. We made reservations for 8pm indoors. When we arrived at 7:45 we were told it would be closer to 8 for our table to be ready. Sounds great, we'll be in the bar. But no explanation that our table ready time would be notified by text or email. Unfortunately, several tables got seated before us due to lack of communication. We finally sat at 8:15 but outdoors. Still a wonderful time. 😃
