I had not been here since the beautiful remodeling. Previously I would stop by every week or so for breakfast in or a large container of matzah ball soup to go. My go-to on my way to work or heading home.
I decided to splurge on soup, London Broil, vegetable medley, mashed potatoes and rolls. As soon as I tasted the room temperature flavorless soup I thought OMG am I in for a meal fit for a geriatric home?
Sure enough the experience got progressively worse: I should have known as soon as I unwrapped the mismatched cheap utensils, rock hard rolls that I had to request, flavorless tuff steak that was carved three times the thickness that it should have been, mushy over cooked vegetables, mildly flavored cold mushroom gravy and mashed potatoes that were the only portion of the meal that was hot!
I brought the leftovers home because I could add salt and pepper to the soup. I discarded the steak and veggies. I’ll have soup during this weekend.
ALL THIS FOR $50.00 INCLUDING TAX AND GRATUITY!
The serving staff were polite energetic but naively inexperienced or coached to properly enhance the dining experience!
UNFORTUNATE…

We had an excellent breakfast, were seated right away and the service was great. We had the breakfast special, it's 9.95 I think. Our server kept the coffee flowing. It is a nice place. A little pricey, but I guess everything has gone up these days.

I just paid $38.00 for one sandwich, fries (which used to come with this sandwich) and a bowl of fruit. I’ve been coming here for decades and I’m never going back again.

Such a disappointment! Went out to dinner to celebrate a family members birthday. I ordered a Hot Brisket Sandwich only to receive a COLD, FATTY mess! I asked if they could toast and heat sandwich. It retuned to me burnt. At this point I’m not even hungry anymore, especially when the birthday girl receives a sandwich also made incorrectly. We had to ask for our waitress Paige, who never came to check on us to see if we wanted refills. Gave us eye rolling and attitude. At this point we asked for the manger on duty.
Shocked at his lack of respect for our concerns! Challenging us on our tables food and service. Total disregard for the customer!
Do not recommend Poppies!!!!

Disappointing Experience

Unfortunately, our visit was far from enjoyable. The hot brisket sandwich was served cold and overly fatty. When we asked for it to be heated and toasted, it came back with burnt bread, and the meat remained bland and unappetizing. The coleslaw was warm and overly saturated with mayonnaise, making it unpleasant to eat.

To make matters worse, the service left a lot to be desired. The manager on duty was dismissive and confrontational when we raised concerns about the food. Our server, Paige, appeared uninterested and unprofessional—she rolled her eyes at our table and was seen gossiping with coworkers about us.

Overall, the experience was frustrating and disappointing. We won’t be returning.

Everything was great. Great delicious breakfast deals. I had scrambled eggs on a toasted bialy with turkey sausage and coffee. So delish. Price was I think $10.95 including the coffee. Super satisfied with everything

There are many other deli style dining spots in the Delray area that are better.
