We had a reservation for 8 @ 630pm on Feb 16 and sat down at the table promptly. The waitress was very slow in taking our order; and did not put bread on the table, refilled our water, or give the kids drinks until asked. We didn't get served until 8pm, an hour and a half later. When we complained to the manager she said she would take the kids meals off the bill. My wife said that wasn't enough. She then gave us another 25% off.

We have been here many times, but this service was the worst.

The owner's response below is NOT true . While 2 of the 8 were seated early, the other 6 were seated at 6:30pm. It took an hour and a half AFTER we were ALL seated to get our meal! We won't be back.

Because they had a special event going on, we were seated by the window. Area was poorly lit. The table itself was messy and lacking salt , pepper, and a dirty ketchup bottle. There wasstill a bottle of maple syrup present. I ordered the salmon special. It was described as being baked in breadcrumbs with a horseradish sauce. The salmon was overdone, charred, and very salty. We had to have another waitress summon our waitress to our table. She had never returned to the table after our food was delivered. She just stated she will have it taken off the bill. She just walked away, dropped off our check and walked away. She never apologized.

Since the remodel, the food is mediocre at best and overpriced. This is our last visit to Poppies and it used to be our favorite place to go and would always bring guests to dine there.

WOW...We found an amaizing NY Jewish Deli in Delray. My boy toy is from Brooklyn. None of the deli's around here or even in Boca are any good. (3G's is disgusting). I was shocked at the hugh selection and the variety of different foods they offer. Besides the regular deli items, they had several Italian dishes, a lot of great Greek items and a cornucopia of desserts to choose from.

I had a pastrami on a roll and he had a corn beef on rye. Both sandwiches were packed high with delicious meat and hot🔥. We took some potato pancakes and a few other things home to eat later.😋 Their prices are very resionable. We will definitely be back. Go check them out. You won't be disappointed. 👍

The hot chocolate tasted like dish water, my daughter’s cappuccino was forgotten and we had to get it ourselves and to top it off there was a hair in the fruit dish. The manager’s comments were that it’s a restaurant it happens and processed to give us 4 pieces of small danish as a special treat! Do NOT go to Poppies!

The food is very good. Not thrilled with the knish, super dry. The matzoball soup is great. The counter is wonderful for good to go. The bagels are huge and taste like NY/NJ bagels. Bakery items are awesome. This place is not inexpensive, be prepared. But I think our worth the money.

I had not been here since the beautiful remodeling. Previously I would stop by every week or so for breakfast in or a large container of matzah ball soup to go. My go-to on my way to work or heading home.
I decided to splurge on soup, London Broil, vegetable medley, mashed potatoes and rolls. As soon as I tasted the room temperature flavorless soup I thought OMG am I in for a meal fit for a geriatric home?
Sure enough the experience got progressively worse: I should have known as soon as I unwrapped the mismatched cheap utensils, rock hard rolls that I had to request, flavorless tuff steak that was carved three times the thickness that it should have been, mushy over cooked vegetables, mildly flavored cold mushroom gravy and mashed potatoes that were the only portion of the meal that was hot!
I brought the leftovers home because I could add salt and pepper to the soup. I discarded the steak and veggies. I’ll have soup during this weekend.
ALL THIS FOR $50.00 INCLUDING TAX AND GRATUITY!
The serving staff were polite energetic but naively inexperienced or coached to properly enhance the dining experience!
UNFORTUNATE…

We had an excellent breakfast, were seated right away and the service was great. We had the breakfast special, it's 9.95 I think. Our server kept the coffee flowing. It is a nice place. A little pricey, but I guess everything has gone up these days.
