We hosted a "celebration of life" for my grandfather at his assisted living facility yesterday after his funeral. While we had ordered coffee and dessert decided we may want some real food so the morning of called Poppie's to order some shiva trays. I ordered a deli meat tray, tuna salad/egg salad/etc tray and ruggalah tray. The woman who answered the phone was incredibly helpful and said she'd have them ready later that day. I didn't even ask the cost, but assumed it would be around $300 for everything. While sitting in the funeral my watch alerted me that my credit card had been charged $580 from Poppies. Eek! For that price they should have some cavaiar on the tray as well. We picked up the trays and they were beautiful and probably fed close to 30 people (and still so much leftover). It had been awhile since I had corn beef and it was so tasty. Many were raving about the roastbeef, which looked a little rare for my liking...but apparently it's good that way! They did provide 3 loaves of rye bread with it, as well as a box of matzo for those keeping passover. While the food was perfect for our needs I don't think it was quite worth what we paid. There's so many good delis in the Boca/Delray area and I haven't visited Poppie's beyond this (chose it since it was close to where my grandfather lived), but will have to eat there in the future. And a good lesson to me to check the pricing of trays when ordering next time, although I probably would have still continued with the order since can't put a price on grandpa's 99 years of life.

Went to Poppies to order for Passover. Decided to have lunch there too and delighted that I did. The food and service was excellent. The matzo ball soup was delicious with chunks of chicken, carrots and celery as well as a large matzo ball. My corned beef sandwich was excellent on soft rye bread served with cole slaw and a half sour pickle. As someome who hails from Brooklyn, finding a deli that reminds me of "home" is truly a gift.

Took my father out for lunch, trying to stay local. Server seems to have a handicap. My father wanted me to help her at one point. She was trying, yet I'm thinking cashiering might be more appropriate for her going forward. The food is good and priced accordingly. His soup wasn't filled even close to the top ,and I understand,my father didn't .

This is our fave Deli since Wolfies, Rascal House, Pumperniks & Corky's! Funny all were in area of NMB & Miami Beach! Our second time back, Rona was seating another party and they don't let you stand and wait! Another great experience with a different server, Gina! Every worker sees that you are not waiting for anything from clearing table to getting to go boxes making sure that they are getting even the right packaging for your leftovers! Watching Gina interact with every table and customer she is such a great server has a great personality and so caring that even was worried her customer maybe wasn't feeling well she waited and spoke to him to determine he was okay! We look forward to coming for breakfast it I have one issue I don't eat breakfast only one meal a day! I will have to make an exception for this place! We had to take some items to go so I stopped at the counter and since our first visit exactly a month ago I had to try Hamentashen as it was that first time near Purim I did t take any as we had so much but black and whites I cannot Lea e without them for my adult son who goes crazy for them. I decided to get 1 1/2 lbs Rugelach; as this was highly recommended recommended by Rona who told us last visit we must try them! This would be perfect to bring for Shiva call so then I got the other besides Potato that I ordered with my meal! A "10" would be my rating if it were available! Can't wait to next visit we live in Davie! No great Delis around anymore this one has the lead so far for us!

Im a door dasher and was picking up an order alongside my boyfriend, we went to the pickup area where a younger guy kept sending us to different places to pick up our clients order, we then went back to the front of the store where there was an older man slouched over the counter around 60 years old id assume. we then got his attention and saw our order on the counter and asked if it was done. he then started yelling at us for the name, we tried showing him our phone where the name and order was to confirm it was our order and he continued yelling at us to say the name and that he didn’t need to be looking at our phone. he then walked away from us while continuing to say rude stuff to himself. overall a very unprofessional restaurant and experience.

This is going to be a short review but still wanted to share my experience. We went for lunch mid week and the place was pretty busy. We only had about a 15 minute wait which wasn't bad at all. I had the soup and sandwich combo (matzoh ball soup and half a pastrami sandwich) and my friend had the potato pancakes platter. We both really enjoyed our meals. The soup had plenty of chicken and noodles in it just the way I like it. The cole slaw and half pickle that came with my meal were delicious also. Our server was really nice, he checked on us through the meal but wasn't overbearing about it. The place is really clean. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was having to wait in line in order to pay our bill but it wasn't a deal breaker as to whether I'll return or not. If I was in the area I would definitely make a point to eat here again for some good food!

The other night we thought that we would go to Poppies because I wanted a pastrami sandwich, well I should have ordered a fat sandwich because that is what I got. Tried to ear 1/2 but it was inedible. Took the other half home and even the garbage wouldn't take it.
