This was our first visit to Red Crab. It has ambiance similar to a sports bar but with a more family friendly slant. The noisier bar area is to the right as you enter and it was holding a karaoke session. We chose to sit in the main dining area and asked to be seated towards the back farthest away from the sound coming from the bar. It was still rather loud but not terrible. We ordered lobster bisque and was very good, having a nice flavor but a less body than we prefer. Some small pieces of lobster could be found but not many. We chose Red Crab because I was craving lobster tail which I had not had in about a year. I ordered 2 tails in a garlic butter sauce. Red Crab has a unique serving process. Your order come on a single tray, wrapped in clear plastic wrap. The tray contains your seafood, veggie and starch. I ordered mini boiled potatoes. When delivered, the waitress shakes and flips the wrapped dish to spread the garlic butter evenly over the entire order. When the plastic wrap is opened, the feast begins. Loved the boiled potatoes and a small ear of corn on the cob which was boiled rather than grilled. The twin lobster tails were small so I was very happy I ordered two. They had a nice texture, were not rubbery and had a great taste. However, they were difficult to remove from their shell. A significant amount of lobster meat had to be scraped away from the shell. For dessert we had the molten lava chocolate cake a la mode. It was very good. All in all, we enjoyed Red Crab and its casual atmosphere and very reasonably priced tasty food. We will try it again and hope that the lobster tail is more willing to leave its shell than what we experienced.

While visiting a friend recently, we popped in for a small bite & drink on a Friday night.

We sat at the bar and ordered martini's.
Rob, the bartender recommended the Bang Bang Shrimp. It was spicy and very flavorful. Just the right amount of kick!

The place was hopping with patrons dancing and enjoying the atmosphere.

Good Times!

Red Crab in Delray Beach was an amazing experience! The food was beautifully prepared, and everyone — especially our server Ty — was absolutely wonderful. He was attentive and made us feel as comfortable as if we were dining with family. I give 5 stars for the atmosphere, the good vibes, and everything in between.

Our first visit to The Red Crab Juicy Seafood in Delray Beach was nothing short of disappointing and frustrating. Despite the positive reviews—and the fact that we were the only couple seated in the bar area—the service was dismal and completely inattentive, and the food was equally underwhelming.

At first, things seemed promising when our drinks were served promptly. Unfortunately, that was the only part of the evening that went smoothly. We ordered a simple appetizer, which took about 20 minutes to arrive and only after we flagged down the front desk staff for an update on our food, as no server had checked on us. When the appetizer finally arrived, it wasn’t what we had ordered.

Even after bringing this to the attention of the manager and staff—and being assured the issue would be resolved—we waited another 20 minutes before our entrées finally arrived. When they did, the disappointment only deepened. One entrée included the Tuesday seafood special. It sounded delicious, but it was anything but. The seafood was overcooked, with rubbery textures and dried-out shellfish. The corn was similarly overdone and mushy. The only redeeming part of the meal? The potatoes, which were cooked properly.

We ended up leaving most of the meal uneaten, yet still paid the full bill. We then went home to eat leftovers at 9 p.m. because we were still hungry. What a waste of money.

If you’re looking for attentive service and well-prepared seafood, we strongly recommend steering clear of this restaurant. Delray Beach has much better options.
