My father (in his late 90’s) had been excited to go to Ruvens for weeks, he loves their menu! Coleslaw and pickes were so good, just like we used to get in NY!

Georgina was right there to welcome us ! Thank you for being so great with dad, our friends and me …we appreciate you taking such good care of us :)

Food was delicious, fish, meat, chicken, mushroom barley soup was a highlight for sure …dad is already asking when we are going back!

I am so sad to have to mention this. We loved Ruven's but today we got our bill and it was not what we ordered. I checked with our server and she dismissed me and said it was the right bill. My wife had soup and I had breakfast. She charged for two full breakfast. I wish I could say it was a mistake but the quickness of her answer I could tell she was jacking up the bill for her benefit. My wife and I were so said that she was doing this. I can tell it was her plan so now I just feel I cannot go again . I was not going to engage in a fight, I figured if she wanted the money so bad to steal it, I was not going into that type of argument. It was obviously was no one else's bill because no one was at her table. It is just so sad the she does not have enough integrity to be doing the right thing. Ever check your credit card carefully. I know she knows. Tom Muench

My wife and I went to Ruven’s for Thanksgiving dinner. The restaurant is very close to my home. I hadn’t been there for a long time, but when I read that there was a new owner after 35 yrs, we thought we’d give it a try again.

A very, very pleasant surprise awaited us. Ruven’s had three sittings on Thanksgiving. I attempted to make a reservation for 5pm, but they were booking, so I got a reservation for the final sitting at 7:15pm.

A large group of people were waiting to be seated at 7pm for the 7:15 sitting. By 7:15, everyone was greeted, seated by our host and then approached by our delightful server who immediately took our drink order. Waiting for us on our table was a 1/2 loaf of warm bread and butter. There was also a nice dish of cole slaw which was a nice touch.

Our server was pleasant and told us about our dinner options since it was a fixed menu for Thanksgiving. We knew this in advance.

I ordered the turkey, gravy and stuffing, sweet potatoes and green beans almandine.
Cranberry sauce, not from the can, was also served. We also got soup to start. I got mushroom barley which hot and tasty, while my wife got the matzo ball soup which she loved. Neither soup was overly salted which was a bonus.

My wife had the brisket, mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans almandine. There was enough meat for both of us to bring home plenty of leftovers.

For dessert we had a choice of three different pies. We each got a slice of coconut custard which I brought home and ate with a cup of coffee. The pie was delicious .

Our food was served, presented and prepared very well and we had a nice time. We are looking forward to dining at Ruven’s again.

First time trying Ruven’s and I must say I am a fan. The staff was very welcoming and friendly and the new owner Herode was very nice! The Cobb salad was delicious. I would definitely recommend Ruven’s and I will definitely be back for more!!

This restaurant has gone so downhill in the last couple of years. Today I ordered the specials and beans and both tasted inferior. Normally specials taste the same. These had an odd flavor asdid the beans. The service was so so. The soup was cold. But the worst part of the dinner was my main course. Specials that Tasted so off I could not eat them.

How did I not find Ruven's sooner. I met friends for lunch about 2 weeks ago and have been back 3 times since. Our servers Lucy and Tara were great. Steven the owner is great. The hot open turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes gravy, and cranberry dressing is fabulous. Fresh sliced turkey, the coleslaw is the best ever. My wife had a salad that she raved about. I snuck a peek at the next table and saw home fries that I can't wait to try. The wraps are fantastic and I'll be trying their baked goods next time. If only they had stuffed derma. Looking forward to breakfast and dinner there soon.
