I'm thrilled to have finally tried “The Cocky Rooster” in Deltona after hearing so many great things from locals and reading glowing reviews. After living here for a few months, this restaurant has been on my must-try list, and it certainly didn’t disappoint.

The ambiance is charming from the moment you step inside, with rooster and chicken-themed décor throughout. There’s a cozy bar area that serves alcohol, but you can also enjoy your meal there. The restaurant offers plenty of seating options, from booths to tables and chairs, making it accessible for wheelchairs. The adorable gift shop adds to the appeal, with funny rooster-themed shirts, hats, bags, and even games for sale. It’s a fun touch that makes the place stand out.

The dessert selection is impressive, featuring everything from cakes and cookies to a variety of pastries that all looked mouthwatering. I’ll definitely be back to try some of those!

Our server, **Nina**, was incredibly attentive and thoughtful. Since I focus on health and fitness, and I’m also avoiding caffeine, she suggested an uncaffeinated black tea, which I really appreciated. My husband ordered the tuna melt, which he found absolutely delicious and highly recommends. I opted for the chicken fajita bowl, requesting lettuce instead of rice to keep things lighter, and since I’m lactose intolerant, Nina thoughtfully suggested skipping the cheese. Her attention to detail was fantastic.

The fajita bowl itself was beautifully presented, with perfectly cooked chicken breast, green bell peppers, onions, lettuce, tomato, and avocado. The chicken was juicy and full of flavor, living up to the "Cocky Rooster" name! However, the portion size was smaller than I anticipated, especially for the price. I suspect it felt a bit light because I opted out of the rice, but the taste was so good that I was left wanting more! It was satisfying, but not quite filling, so I ended up having a snack when I got home.

Nina checked in regularly to ensure everything was perfect, and we even had the pleasure of meeting the cook, who came out to see how we liked our meal. He was kind and clearly passionate about the food, which was a lovely personal touch.

Overall, I had a great experience at “The Cocky Rooster” and will definitely be returning to try more of their menu. It’s a charming local spot with delicious food and excellent service, and I’m excited to see what else they have to offer!

Vegetarian options: They are had a bunch of vegetarian and options clearly labeled on the menu with a (V) a couple of items on the vegetarian menu was a “black bean patty” and “Chipotle Black Bean Burger”. the server can adjust any item for you to make it into a vegan option as well.

Dietary restrictions: Our server, Nina, was fantastic! She kindly swapped the rice in my fajita bowl for lettuce, offering a lower-calorie option, and thoughtfully suggested leaving out the cheese due to my lactose intolerance. Her attentiveness made a big difference in my dining experience. I highly recommend requesting Nina as your server!

Parking: There is plenty of parking in the plaza!

First time here. If a restaurant has eggs Benedict on the menu I will usually order it. It's a good "litmus" test. If they do that well, they can usually do everything to my satisfaction. Unfortunately, I don't think they make their own Hollandaise. Now I realize, not many breakfast places actually make Hollandaise. The ones that do, get my repeat business. You can get a good breakfast here. I just can't recommend the Benedict. They do have several different variations of Benedict. I ordered the traditional.

This is a nice little eatery. Service is always nice, and the food is always prompt and warm. But the food quality is meh and the price is high for it too. My favorite is biscuits and gravy, but Rooster cafes gravy is always so werid tasting. They have a decent sweets case, but thats always hit or miss on satisfaction. It would be cool if yall worked a deal with the Buttercup Bakery in Deland.

The Chef Joe is amazing. It so happens that he's a Marine Veteran ??? I live in Ohio and have many friends in Florida, and I turn them on to The Cocky Rooster. It's constantly busy with happy guests. Great food, atmosphere, and service from the entire team. I fly in almost monthly for a week at a time, and I always go there a few times.

Unsure how you make biscuits and gravy uneatable, but they can do it, won't be going back there until they get a different cook
