We went for the Easter brunch and it was terrible. As we went through the buffet line many of the chafing dishes were empty. The ones that had food in them were cold, and the rolls were rock hard. When the food was replenished and we got a taste, it was a total disappointment. Nothing had any flavor except the green beans that were overpowered by garlic. It’s hard to mess up Mac and cheese, but it too had no flavor. The chef was afraid of seasoning and salt apparently. The shrimp cocktail was the only thing that was good. Of course it wasn’t cooked, so no credit to the chef since nothing had to be done. We mentioned a few of our concerns to our server and he could have care less. $40 per person for cold, flavorless food is unacceptable. We have been to 790 many times and it is usually a good experience. The restrooms had no toilet paper and waste overflowing from the receptacles. It was disgusting. Today was a terrible experience and we will not be returning to 790.

I know this review will never be posted online, but I just have to vent. Our family traveled two hours to get to 790 for Easter Brunch. What a big let down! The photos on their website are very deceptive. This is not a linen tablecloth restaurant, and it is no where near the Gulf. The food was all catered as we were told the kitchen was in fact closed for the day. We paid $40 a piece for five adults plus one child was $16. Our total bill came to $238 and I told my husband to leave no tip. The tip was actually for the waitress, so I agreed as she was really doing a great job. The food however was not what we were expecting at all. It was cold, sticky and tasteless. If 790 hired an outside party to cater this meal, they should ask for their money back for allowing them to ruin the restaurant’s reputation. We feel like we were ripped off and wasted not only the almost $300 for our meals, but also the gas it took to drive us to this extremely over rated eatery. Get it together or shut it down, but at the very least, make the caterers aware of how they let you down. PS….we want our money back!

We went today for the Easter buffet and were really disappointed. We sat for 15 minutes and flagged down someone to get us drinks. He ended up taking our table because no one knew who had it? The food was average at best- much better places to dine in Destin.

Made reservations couldn't seat us and the buffet was not looking good.

Overpriced food. Service was good. On-line menu has pricing that is very inaccurate. Menu prices at restaurant are more costly than shown on their website.

I travel to Destin a few times a year, and this is one of the few restaurants I always plan to dine at. Great happy hour specials, great location and staff that's always ready to help!

This is one of our finest local establishments and as a local I eat here often. I take all my friends here and they all love this place too. The server for today, Kayden, was very attentive and was one of the friendliest and most competent server I have ever seen. The food was perfect. Their Gumbos are fantastic and all the other dishes are too. This is the place to eat for locals and visitors alike. Will be back with my next set of visitors soon, or just by myself.

We came to 790 for happy hour. Our large group was seated. We had a number of issues that evening. We waited almost an hour for our food. While we waited, I watched the tables of four surrounding us being seated, orders taken, food delivered, and new customers arriving. Not only did we wait for our food to be delivered, but we also had to wait for drinks to be served. When the dessert was delivered our table was still dirty. I had to ask to have the dirty dishes removed. There were several staff who were standing around with nothing to do, and did not help our server. I watched our server clear dirty dishes off of tables, then serve us our food which is a good way for us to pick up viruses, etc. from someone else's dirty plates. In addition, we ordered what we thought were happy hour prices but were charged regular prices instead.

The first thing you notice when you walk in the door is a fresh clean atmosphere. We were the for lunch with friends. The food came quickly and was fresh. One of our friends is Celiac. Our waiter was very knowledgeable on what contained gluten and made suggestions on that to substitute on the meal she ordered. The prices were reasonable and the portions were bigger than we could eat. We will be back.

If you’re from a big city with good food, you probably won’t like this place. I ordered a shrimp meal with rice, mushrooms, olives and bread. It was sooooaked in butter, way too salty and greasy. The duck gumbo on the side was likely reheated, not fresh and thick- almost syrupy. Also way too salty. The service was good and the drinks were decent but the food I couldn’t even finish.

Went in for lunch. We never got waited on and people after us were taken care of. Decided to leave and we told the male host we were leaving due to no one waiting on us and his rude comment was OH WELL! We r locals and noticed prices had really gone up. Probably won't ever be back.

My husband ordered an omelette and wasn't too impressed. It was your average omelette you could make at home. We would expect more presentation and more filling and amount of eggs for the cost at a restaurant that is more fancy. I ordered the baked lobster and shrimp Parmesan dip and it was delicious! I would highly recommend this dish. The bread and shrimp paired so nicely. We said we wouldn't necessarily return because overall, the menu lacked specializing in a certain genre of food and it was high priced but not necessarily as upscale as the prices. Also, they charge you an additional fee if you don't pay with cash. The ambiance was wonderful and the staff was very polite.
