I visit the Gulf Coast from Atlanta once a year in January or February and discovered this place a few years ago. I seek it out every time I come down. The Pipeline Plunge is my favorite go-to and it can't be found anywhere else.

On Saturday morning, I was craving coffee, so I searched the area and found Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii. It opens early, at 6:00 AM, and was 5-minutes from where we were staying.
Fortunately, I managed to find parking right in front of the cafe. I went to the counter and ordered a small, hot caramel wave coffee. After discussing the sweetness options with the server, I opted for half sweet.
My coffee order arrived in around 7-10 minutes. The coffee was fresh, hot, and perfectly made just how I liked it, less sweet. Great cafe with a wide selection of excellent coffees.

Since the new management has taken over, the entire coffee shop has gone downhill. It is no longer the fun, badass vibes that we all know and love. They are also very clearly not loyal to their hardworking employees which is not a good look. We don’t want strangers running our shops! We want our badass team. The ones who are loyal to their jobs, who loved working there and the ones who know how to make the environment and atmosphere worth coming for. Sad, everything changed for worse. Firing every single employee right before the holidays is nothing short of corrupt & repulsive. I will be going to Starbucks from now on.

I used to really enjoy Bad Ass Coffee, but lately it feels like a completely different place. The quality of the food and drinks has gone downhill, and the prices have gone up at the same time. It no longer feels like the friendly, family-oriented shop it used to be. Very sad what a big corporation has done. I went in today and was shown proof of a termination for all employees. If you have any respect for yourself you will not support this company,

The coffee was okay — they use a very light roast, which might not be for everyone, but the vibes definitely make up for it. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, a great spot to hang out or catch up with a friend.
