Our server was great! So not anything to do with her. My food was incredibly salty. The pasta was hard and full of onions which wasn't aware of. They did take it of our bill but added a 20% service fee, which is not a tip. Plus you have to pay to park there. Definitely a no to going again.

Great restaurant! The quality of the food, the service, the views, the atmosphere- all superb! We will be back. Our waiter was Greg and he was fantastic and added to the great experience!

Given how nice the restaurant looked as well as the location and reviews, I was disappointed in the lack of seasoning on the Solo Cajun seasoned waterfront bucket. The hot crab dip was decent. The space itself was a bit cramped, and there was not a lot of communication that occurred when we arrived.

12$ for parking here is a real downer. Then the waiter told use each ticket at the table INCLUDED a 20% tip and that he would be forced to share this tip with other staff and it would be great if we could give some more. Food was good. Service was good. The management here is trying to turn business away.

In 1978, a young Jon R. moved with his military family from Japan to the beautiful white sand beaches of the Gulf Coast. Back when one could get an acre of oceanfront property for $4,000, no one ever believed this forgotten coast would become the tourist destination it is today. Fast forward to 2025. During the height of the Destin Fishing Rodeo, our found family of nerdy anglers needed experts to prepare our extensive catch of wahoo, blackfin tuna, king mackerel, mahi mahi, and mango snapper. After a full day of fishing, beaching, and massage therapy, we found ourselves with a bag of the best fresh fish in the world. Shunning the crowded two-letter tourist trap, we headed to find smoother waters of culinary delight with a little more ambience and a lot more class. Enter Jon and the pro chefs at Brotula. All our crew needed to do was place our fish bag on a tray, briefly discuss preparation, order our sides, and sit back and enjoy the extensive drink menu. Noted were the build your own old fashioneds and the Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. Jon poured like a seasoned sommelier while offering up side suggestions for what would be a beautiful feast (he recommended the Brussel sprouts - and we were NOT disappointed). What came out of the kitchen was a giant board filled with grilled, seared, and fried fish artfully arranged with our sides. Jon visited with our crew, marveled at our catch, made suggestions as to how we might ship our catch using local vendors, and even enjoyed some fresh tuna at our insistence. The hospitality Jon showed, the excellent vituals, and the warm waterfront atmosphere combined to provide one of the loveliest dining experiences of our lives. We will continue to make Brotula's our hook and cook experience for the rest of our days. Thank you, Jon, for everything!

Our server Okra was absolutely amazing. Incredibly welcoming and informative. Our captain suggested we visit here with some fresh fish we caught and they cooked it for us. It was a delicious meal! We would absolutely return!!

First time here. Loved the atmosphere and the food. Our server, Gregg, was great. He was very kind and very knowledgeable on the food items. Made it easy to pick our food. We had one of the broils and it was excellent. Overall a great experience and will be going back soon.
