We had a great view yet we're beside an extremely loud table that basically ruined our mother/daughters experience.
The family could had cared less the noise, messiness of their area and the fact they allowed their children make palm size paper balls using napkins that hit my sister in the face.
We love it there and hate we had that experience.

We had to wait for an hour and a half because of the size of our party but we waited by the bar and enjoyed the beach. The food and service was great.

We have been going to Captain Dave's for 30 yrs. This will probably be our last. This visit on 10/9/24 was terrible. Food was just ok but at 40$ a plate I expected way more Our server was basically at the table 3 times 1) took order 2) dropped food after 35 min wait 3) dropped off check which was incorrect. We sat there waiting for 20 mins to have him correct the bill but he never showed. He was busy serving and waiting on others with tables of 10 or more. I got tired of waiting so I just recalculated the bill, dropped the amount on the table in cash and we walked out. The place was so crowded it was like they had added tables and left just enough room for chairs to be pulled out to sit back to back. Overall they graded an F- it is by far the worst dinning experience we have had in yrs. On a positive, the 26$ cocktails were very tasty and sun set view was fantastic.

First & last visit tonight. A member of my party I has a shellfish allergy. First, there are not many options for those unable to eat shellfish. That’s almost understandable because those with allergies could go somewhere else. The allergic member came to Capt. Dave’s to be with family for dinner and was met with unsurpassed lack of concern when they asked to substitute the fries with something that was not in contact with shellfish. Which brings me to the second issue. Concerned or not, Capt. Dave’s should be preparing non-seafood separate and not in the same oil. This kind of cross-contamination could cost someone their life. The server was rude and seemed annoyed when anyone requested condiments which she offered to bring. And both the cheeseburger and kids corn dog were old & were inedible. All of this for the considerably high price of a much better establishment. In reviewing others experiences it appears that I had the same as so many. And those few that the restaurant responded to were met with sarcasm and unprofessional attitude I would have expected based off my visit. If you have anyone who doesn’t eat seafood or has an allergy save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else.

We had not been to Captain Dave’s before this trip to the Destin area. Captain Dave’s will now be a stop each time. Food was good, fair price and staff was so friendly. We enjoyed grouper and had a drink, being very satisfied we plan on returning.

Captain Dave's is always delicious. We drove over from Pensacola to eat last night. And as always it didn't disappoint. Highly recommend.

I arrived early, ahead of the eight people that were to join me for our meal. I requested a table with a gulf view and was told that I would have to wait until the rest of my party arrived. Once everyone arrived we were led a table in a corner where 50% of the view was obscured by shades that were broken (not retractable). I'm a local and don't care about looking at the water while I eat, but the people I was with were there for the experience. I went to the hostess station and requested once again, to be seated at a table with a view.
While waiting to be reseated a somewhat inept waiter attempted to take a drink order but he just made the situation more frustrating for us.
Finally we got a waiter that moved us to a more acceptable table, and acted as if he actually cared about our experience. Thanks to him everything went great going forward! His service was top notch, and the food was excellent despite being somewhat pricey.

The food and view were exactly what you would want it to be. We came the last week of August so there was no wait.
