Good quality food, fun place, a little overpriced for the quality. Our Family had grouper and lobster meals, and we tried all the special cocktails. It was all good, and we had a fun time. However, we give it an average rating, because it seemed overpriced for the quality that we received.
Outstanding filet minon

Even though we came after the sun went down & missed the beach view, captain daves was adorable! The food was delicious. Got the surf and turf filet and lobster and then the filet and added grilled shrimp. The flavor was impeccable. Our server was full of energy and super kind, understanding, and helpful. We both got the daves punch drink and boy did it pack a punch! Overall price wise wasn't bad!

We have been going here for decades and tonight was beyond disappointing. They honest used to be the beat gulf fried shrimp in the whole Destin area and that reign ended tonight.
They have switched to a cornmeal batter for some weird reason. They also use to have a flour mix for that light and airy taste that one looks for when it comes to fried gulf shrimp. Unfortunately they don’t anymore and the shrimp did not taste like the fresh gulf shrimp of the past.
The okra was flat and tasteless and cold, like it had been laying there for hours.
Service was definitely not up to Captain Dave’s standards and we only saw 1 veteran staff member tonight and that has never happened before.
It definitely was not worth the price for a family of 6 and unfortunately it has made some unfavorable changes to their food.

Really enjoyed our visit. The food is good, and the service was average. I only give fives when it is some of the best food I’ve ever had. That’s a rare thing.

The waiter was great at first but he got more tables and I had to go get someone else so we could pay and leave. He didn’t check on us for at least 20 minutes.
The food was absolutely fantastic!

We ordered the Stuffed Shrimp Parm and the Mahi Parm. Both were absolutely amazing, along with dessert, the strawberry shortcake cheesecake. Our waitress, Allyson, took great care of us, and the surrounding staff was attentive to other tables as well (helping to clear plates and refill beverages). We will be returning :)

Captain Dave’s on the Gulf in Miramar Beach is a must-visit for oceanfront dining. Their Blackened Grouper and Grit Cakes are simply the best. The Snapper Jane was equally delicious. Be prepared for generous portions, if you leave hungry it’s your own fault.

Loved our dinner here. The wife and I watched the sunset, had some drinks and delicious food. Steak was cooked perfectly. Our server was Michael and he was the best. Will definitely go back!
