We rented a boat and we had bad customer service. We were in the middle of a storm and the lady got upset and started raising her voice because we took 20 minutes to get back after she texted. We explained that the it was a huge storm and we couldn’t see anything and we were going slow to make sure that we were safe. She made us wait in the rain for 30 minutes to let us know that it was canceled. We could see that she was rude only to us I felt racism

Wish I could give this amazing company 5 million stars. Check in was so quick and easy. Terri and her team were clear about the rules and boundaries. The boat was pristine and came with trash cans, noodles and floats, etc (what other boat company does that???) there were 11 of us, most with coolers, and we still had room. They pulled it from and back in the dock so we did not have to worry about that. Absolutely can not recommend these stellar people enough and we will be back again and again!

We have rented from Destin Boat Shack 4 years in a row!! The staff is super helpful from start to finish & parking is free right next to the check in barn. We always appreciate them being accommodating with weather issues. Upon check in- a full detailed explanation is given of the layout of crab island. 10/10 recommend!!

We rented a pontoon boat for 4 hours and had a great time! We visited Crab Island and also the Okaloosa shore where we found lots of crabs, fish, and some long legged birds (herons, I think?). Crab Island was interesting to experience, with floating shops and little motored food rafts. We got shaved ice - so fun! The pontoon boat itself was fine. Not new & shiny but clean, and no issues. The staff was friendly and accommodating, working around our schedule, and loading our belongings onto the boat for us. They held a parking spot for us, and parking was free. They provided nice new puddle jumpers for our child. One improvement I might suggest is chairs in better condition at the rental hut. Our 40 lb child started to step onto one to see on top of the bar-height table and was firmly told not to. I’m guessing it was because the chair looked like it might break. Though, maybe it was because they didn’t want to be liable in case she fell, in which case new chairs wouldn’t help. Aside from that one very minor thing, the staff was exceptional.
Customer service was awful. Called to inquire about the boats and all they could tell me was that they're not new. No pictures available to see the conditions or to see what my kids and I would be on. Was even told to go to another company if I want a different boat. Was not expecting that but indeed I will.

We had to cancel last minute. Even though they normally require 24 hours notice to cancel, they still gave us a full refund, no questions asked. Excellent customer service.

Destin Boat Shack called about an hour before our rental and explained there was a problem with the boat and we would not be able to go out that afternoon. Let's just say they made a very generous offer for us to come another time. When we showed up the next day, they had saved a parking space in an otherwise full lot. They explained everything and even pulled the boat out of the slip and back in upon our return Everything about the experience was great. We will definitely call them when we want to rent again. Highly recommended!

Late notice they were able to get us two boats for the last half of the day. Great rates with superior service, deck hand was really nice and shared alot of information. The walk-through and paperwork is a bit more extreme than other rental companies but after that it was a great rental for an exciting day of fun in the sun. They did have a little better motor than some of the other rentals we have had in the areas, so when we got out we were able to run, and had consistent starts no waiting for the motor to catch....will definitely rent again.
