Went to Fish-On in Destin today and had an awesome experience. The manager and chef both came out and introduced themselves, which you don’t see much anymore. We learned they’re one of only three restaurants in Destin serving locally caught seafood that’s truly fresh — never frozen — and you can taste the difference. The chef has been on Hell’s Kitchen twice, and you can tell he takes real pride in what he puts on the plate. Everything we ordered was excellent, and the prices were surprisingly fair for the quality you’re getting. If you’re in Destin and want something legit, this place is a hidden gem. Highly recommend.

To us, this seemed like a jackpot on our trip! My husband order a shrimp and snow crab seafood boil, and he couldn’t stop raving! I got their kind of “build your own” seafood dish of fried grouper with a side of mac and cheese - delicious (I had never had grouper up until now)!
I’d eat it all the time... It didn’t need anything to help it either, but the tartar sauce provided was also amazing. I was adding it on because it was just that good - and fresh, I can’t forget that! All of the food we got was piping hot, clearly made to order fresh!
The key lime pie - order it! My kids first experience having any, and now they’re hooked!

Hidden gem. Absolutely amazing. Its not on the water. Therefore not overpriced and the food is amazing. The menu is small. Which is good becuase they focus on making their food right. Unlike places like the Back Porch that have huge menus, but everything is sub-par.

Please do not sleep on this place. It was fantastic! I know it's not water front but it was worth stopping in. The fish and chips was great and the blackened red fish with grits was amazing. I would highly recommend!!

I came here purely because my patience ran out waiting for a table at one of those big-name “mainstream” seafood joints on the strip. Best. Decision. Ever.

The grouper? Like it just leapt out of the ocean and onto my plate perfectly cooked, buttery, and bursting with flavor. The mahi mahi? I swear it was so fresh it almost winked at me before I took the first bite. Every forkful was pure, ocean-kissed perfection.

This isn’t just “good seafood,” this is where seafood goes when it wants to be its very best self. The flavor, the freshness, the care in cooking it’s all there. And the kicker? The prices are shockingly reasonable for the quality you get.

Forget the hype across the street this is the hidden gem you’ll brag to your friends about finding. If you love seafood, do not miss this place. You might walk in a casual fish fan, but you’ll leave ready to name your firstborn after the chef.
