First off, you have to go to the counter and place your order. You have to get your own drinks. It’s more like a fast food establishment rather than a restaurant with waiters and waitresses. The shrimp was good, but with the half pound shrimp only one potato, not a large portion of food. Had to ask for cheese with the shrimp scampi, and it was shredded like cooking cheese. This is great for families with kids, but not for a couple looking to dine out. Fox “news” was on the one television. Disappointed.

Went to Fish-On in Destin today and had an awesome experience. The manager and chef both came out and introduced themselves, which you don’t see much anymore. We learned they’re one of only three restaurants in Destin serving locally caught seafood that’s truly fresh — never frozen — and you can taste the difference.
The chef has been on Hell’s Kitchen twice, and you can tell he takes real pride in what he puts on the plate. Everything we ordered was excellent, and the prices were surprisingly fair for the quality you’re getting.
If you’re in Destin and want something legit, this place is a hidden gem. Highly recommend.

Not on the beach, but the food is really good. Kind is a simple place, with counter service (order at the counter and they bring it to you). We had the blackened grouper with mac&cheese, and the grilled tuna with Cajun rice. The grouper was delicious and cooked just as we liked it (not overdone) making it flaky and flavorful. The tuna was similarly prepared (seared, not overdone), and the rice had a real nice spicy heat to it. A great combination. They had local beer in cans for an amazingly reasonable price. The dining area is an open area. A good choice for good seafood.

This was the best food we ate while visiting Destin. That’s not saying much — Destin shockingly didn’t have very good food, at least in my opinion. However, Fish On Seafood House was an outlier.
We split some fish dishes and everything was excellent. The Firecracker Shrimp were huge and super crispy and flavorful. I got the Fried Catfish which was fresh and well-seasoned. My Mom enjoyed her Grilled Grouper Sandwich and the hush puppies/fries on the side as well.
I don’t know when I’ll be in Destin next, if ever again, but I would get this place again for sure.

I had such high hopes for this place after some reviews I read. All we wanted was good seafood and several beers while we bellied up to the bar for some football. From the minute we walked in the door, I wanted to walk out. We should've. The man who greeted us (not really...he mumbled something then requested our credit card 2 or 3 times before we ever sat down) was not very friendly at all. In fact, he was so jacked up with the sugar sniffles and couldn't stay out of the bathroom long enough to even wait on us. I wasn't born yesterday and this guy was ready to party! My food was meh, but my husband's crab claws were so horrible. Rubbery and tasteless. Won't be back. It sucks....we own a place across the street now and need to continue to find our local go to restaurant. It's NOT this place!
