You will have to judge for yourself. It was not what I expected. It is not the Mediterranean food I am accustomed to eating.

A hidden gem in Destin! A tiny spot with parking in the back. The atmosphere is quaint with maybe 7 tables inside and 4 tables outside. I’d imagine during peak season you’d need a reservation. Out bottle beer and champagne split was not ice cold, but that’s the only thing I’d complain about. I had the gyro platter, the meat was perfectly seasoned and served over a bed of rice. The salad was served on the same platter with a nice balsamic type dressing and plenty of feta cheese crumbles. My husband ordered the Swedish meatballs served on garlic mashed potatoes and the salad on the same platter. He did say some of meatballs were a touch overcooked but over all enjoyed the meal. We will definitely go back to try other dishes.

Feels a bit like stepping back in time to when restaurants cared about your experience, tablecloths and all! Food was delicious...we shared a lentil soup, feta cheese rolls, gyro platter and grilled chicken sandwich. You must have the lentil soup! Very nice lunch experience... much better than we have had in a long time.

We had a very disappointing experience at the Red Onion restaurant in Destin. As a family of five, we were greeted with no smile, no warmth, and a very unwelcoming attitude from our waitress. From the start, she was dismissive and rude, speaking in a loud, monotone voice that made us feel more like a burden than guests.

The dining room was uncomfortably cold, with a window AC unit blasting directly at our table along with the ceiling fan running at full speed. When we politely asked if the fan or AC could be adjusted, the request was flatly denied. We were told everything had to stay on “high” because “the sun will come up and heat up the room.” This was the first time we’ve ever had a restaurant refuse such a simple customer request.

It only got worse. The server repeatedly referred to my young son as “them,” which felt very inappropriate. When my wife asked a simple question about portion sizes, instead of helping, the server responded sarcastically: “I have no idea how you’re going to eat.” The tone was insulting and unnecessary.

At that point, we decided to leave without ordering. We rarely walk out of restaurants, but this experience was unacceptable. For a place like this, we will never return.

We were extremely disappointed with our visit. The lamb chops and the salmon were both spoiled – they had a strong, unpleasant odor that made them inedible. Unfortunately, the oil and juices from the meat and fish soaked into the rice, which also became unappetizing and hard to eat.

On top of that, the service was very discouraging. The middle-aged blonde waitress spoke to us in a rude and dismissive way, despite our polite and friendly attitude throughout the evening. Her attitude really affected the mood of our dining experience in a negative way.

This was not what we expected and sadly, we cannot recommend this restaurant.

Delicious, hole in the wall, perfect for a casual dinner or a romantic date night. I was part of one and had the shrimp dinner and it was amazing. We will definitely be back.!

This little hidden gem is amazing. The food was amazing and came out fast. Food is authentic Mediterranean food. This is a must do restaurant if you are in the area.

We had a reservation and arrived on time but still had to wait nearly 10 minutes to be seated and another 10 minutes for the menu. To our disappointment, their signature dishes Chicken Tava and Chicken Kebab, were unavailable, and the stewardess handled the situation without much courtesy and politeness.
That said, once served, the food was excellent, delicious, generous portions, and of good quality, though a bit pricey. A place worth visiting for the food, but service and availability need improvement.
