Brought my family to Tailfins. It was an unfortunate disappointment. My children’s grilled cheese only had cheese on the very edge of it, the grits were slimy, the shrimp salad has three pieces of shrimp, and we couldn’t understand anything the waitress was saying. Prices were higher than expected by far! And to top it off on the way out we passed 6 different employees and none of them said a word to us. Another thing to note they added a 20% gratuity with no option to pay less as well as an added “harbor fee” whatever that is which shouldn’t apply as we drove there and didn’t use their dockage.

Service was VERY slow for food!! Servers walked by several times and never ask if I needed anything. I had to move to the bar for someone to take my order. Even after that it took 15 min before I was ask if I wanted anything. Restaurant was not busy, it’s was 4:30 on Friday afternoon.

Service was excellent, food was great, and the view was of all the boating activities. This is a family friendly spot with a kids menu. Large groups may struggle to eat together outside, but the seating is all pretty close together. We went for a late lunch, and there wasn't a wait. Food came out quickly.

Great location, our server was very nice and helpful, but most of the food was not good. Gumbo lacked flavor. Shrimp Po Boy, the shrimp was okay flavor but the bun was super dry. Captains Platter had zero seasoning, just your basic plate of fried food, so not worth the cost. The boneless wings in sweet Thai had good flavor and just enough heat.Parking: You can only park in the lot if currently eating there. Was told the owner will tow if you go walk the boardwalk and leave car there for more than an hour or so.Kid-friendliness: Decent kids menu but no substitutes and only side offered is fries.

Love the vibe of this place! Rib plate was $15.95 for the early bird dinner special. The onion rings were AMAZING. The ribs fell off the bone but I didn't personally enjoy the flavor... was a bit bland for my taste. I can't remember the name of the drink I ordered but it was too sweet for me, I did not finish it. Was a bit confused about our receipt... we couldn't figure out what over $20 of our final price was for since we didn't get an itemized receipt. Our waitress said it was the up charge for our 3 plates to change our fries to onion rings... who knows! Our waitress was very kind and attentive, keeping our drinks refilled and checking in on us!
