Hickory Hollow is the closest spot you’ll find to authentic eastern North Carolina style barbecue in Florida. The only negative is the sides are very hit or miss. The fresh sides are pretty good, but I avoid any of their deep fried options.
My grandson loves the crab cake and visiting the goats, chickens and ducks in the back of the property. Others in the group enjoy the barbecue, catfish, ribs, etc.. There really isn't anything that we haven't enjoyed. We have never tried the dessert since we have had enough to eat.

I chose the pork barbecue plate and St. Louis ribs along with a side of coleslaw and mac & cheese. The meat fell off the bones with the ribs. The pork barbecue just melted in your mouth. The coleslaw was good, but didn’t have too much flavor. The mac & cheese didn’t have a lot of cheesiness but it was still good. Service was fast, and everyone super friendly.
