Elsa was our server and is the absolute best! The location is prime and I look forward to coming on a night when they have music. The food was good but I think a little pricey for what you get, we also wished the drinks were a bit stronger.

I popped into The Anchor for a beverage and to use the restroom while at the beach and wound up staying for an hour, reading a book at the gorgeous wooden bar. It was a good crisp inside thanks to the cool air conditioning, warm vibes and clean restrooms. Great prices and service on a Saturday afternoon, too!
We had our pup with us. They offer outdoor dining for guests with dogs. The weather was terrific. The 4 of us ordered something different and we were all satisfied with the food and price. Service was top notch. Will go back and would recommend š.

It was nice to see many available choices on the seafood side on the menu which is typically not on many of the local restaurants. Enjoyed our evening and will be back.
Saw the restaurant on Instagram. Went with friends. Great food. Waitress was a pro. Drinks tasted perfect. Big it a big thumbs up!!
I love to support local businesses & I have been to The Anchor on a Sunday & have enjoyed the specials - oysters, Rockefeller oysters, peel & eat shrimp. But tonight was a HUGE disappointment! We both had the crab bisque. All I tasted was flourā¦.it was heavy & tasteless and not one piece of crabmeat in there. I didnāt even taste the flavor of crab!! Then I ordered chicken parmigiana which came with a salad. I have always rated a restaurant by their salad - so, limp lettuce, a few pieces of tasteless tomatoes & 1 or 2 slices of cucumber & thatās it???? The only thing positive was the chicken - there was barely any marina sauce to cover the pasta & I can make a better sauceā¦..sorry..:::we wonāt be back

A lovely restaurant with excellent service and fun but very loud atmosphere. Good cocktails, don't love the wine list, would prefer more options and the pour is very small for the price. Food is just OK given the price as well. Our favorites are the fettuccine with shrimp, lobster roll, and baby gem salad. The menu items are somewhat limited. It's a very small menu and they don't offer the fried chicken sandwich, which is my favorite item at the Costa Mesa location. I do understand it's very hard these days for a restaurant to succeed given the cost of everything; however, I firmly believe that if they operated to achieve a higher volume with slightly lower prices, this place might have a chance. They are a little busy now but I bet they would be a lot busier if the value was a little higher and a few more items on the menu. I'm sure we will be back again. Would love to see this place succeed beyond their initial lease.

The food was very good. Value is ok. The waitress could not have been worse. It took her 20 minutes to greet us and to take a drink order. Mind you, the restaurant was not overly crowded. She was about as adept at waitressing as a duck running a marathon. We ordered an appetizer, salads and entrees. The entrees came out before the salad. Then with took her another 15 minutes to stop by after we finished (which was ok). We asked for the check and did not order a dessert. It took another 10 minutes to bring the check- and just dropped it off as we were paying cash. We picked up the billfold and it was the wrong check. Waited 10 mote minutes for her to come by again to let her know it was the wrong check. She didn't apologize but instead said, āhmmm - I'll have to run through your order againā and left. We waited another 10 minutes before I got up snd grabbed another waiter to ask him to please bring our check. He did it in 2 minutes flat. I would stay clear of a young blond waitress.
Always a pleasant dining experience. We were warmly greeted and seated on time. We enjoyed the delicious market Red Snapper and crab salad. Service was attentive and friendly. Prices are reasonable and far more wallet friendly than many other restaurants. Who could ask for more. Thanks to all.
Setting is noisy. Had a reservation however the choice of seating was extremely limited. We wound up sitting across from a party of 10 and could not hear each other as a couple during conversation. Food, choices, quality, presentation and cost was exceptional. Service personnel were very busy and at times had to be flagged down for service.
We have been to H&A on several occasions. Each time we had excellent service and food. Unfortunately this time we had a complaint about one food item and the service. The manager, however, quickly addressed our issues. This one experience will not discourage us from returning. We will definitely continue to dine at Hook & Anchor.
We Love this place! The seafood is excellent. The staff are great and the owners are always walking around to check on the tables. ļæ¼
