There's nothing to complain about. Food was excellent, our server and the staff were attentive. It's a very cozy restaurant. You are able to see the chef cook as well. We had thought about going back but the prices have gone up greatly. I would recommend highly, my husband had the wild game meatloaf and I had a beef bouillabaisse (I think) was excellent. One of the few times we brought very little leftovers home.

Visiting Fort Pierce. While walking my 16 pound Papillion I stopped by the restaurant Hostess outside and asked about pets and was advised they were allowed on the patio in back of the restaurant. The restaurant was recommended to us as excellent food, service, and relatively expensive. Came back the next day with my wife and the dog in a stroller and asked if I could take a quick look at the patio, while they waited outside. It was about 3 pm and they open at 4:30 pm. The hostess was inside and asked what appeared to be the man in charge if it was OK. He replied they were moving or preparing tables and she couldn't show me the patio. Can you guess where my family and guests won't be eating? By the way, when I stepped in the door, there were several people standing at the bar talking and the man in charge was the only one doing an activity. Many patios are next to streets or noisy areas and it's always prudent to check the location. I thought it was better to do than walking through a busy restaurant after it opens.

Amazing menu and beautifully served. Best crab cake and steak. Thank you Andrea for such pleasant service. Outside was perfection.

What a wonderful time we had! Loved the atmosphere, great vibe... our waitress Julianne was fabulous... knew the menu. Offered suggestions...The steals were cooked to perfection. My fish was prepared beautifully as well. Highly recommend this restaurant!!

Tried to order an expensive surf and turf special and asked for my filet to be medium well and was politely informed that the chef only cooks it medium. ? needless to say, we won't be back and they lost a lot of money because my backup meal was 1/4 the cost of the original. How pretentious!

Friendly people all around, knowledgeable staff, food served hot and fresh. The escargot was different and really good. My guest said his steak was a 10!! My wife loved her chicken.

I really wanted to love this place, but sadly I won’t be going back. The worst part about that is I don’t think they did anything wrong… I just don’t think this place is good. The positive was the service! It was fine dinning service for sure! We were sat at a table that was probably the most awkwardly placed table I’ve ever seen! But it was raining and our outdoor reservation had to be squeezed inside, so I wasn’t going to complain. However, they moved us to a much nicer table without us even asking or complaining. I was very impressed by that move from the management at front of house! Our waitress name was Andrea and she was also amazing. Our drinks were never empty, everything was attended to perfectly. Again, zero issues with the staff or the service. The low star count comes from the food sadly. When you go out for a nice dinner, spend $245 for two (no alcohol was purchased) and you can make better at home? It’s a disappointment. We started with the smoked Gouda and tomato bisque and it was amazing, the highlight of the meal really. My wife ordered the filet tip Gorgonzola gnocchi… sounded AMAZING on the menu but was so overloaded with Gorgonzola, that was all you could taste, and after 4 bites the Gorgonzola flavor was so strong that it was almost unpalatable.I ordered the 90 dollar KC dry aged strip, ordered medium rare. It came medium to medium well, and lacked ALL seasoning. No salt was used in cooking this meal at all. The steak tasted like I was licking the grill grates. The spicey house steak sauce saved the steak, but when I’m paying $90 for just a steak, it better not need a sauce and be cooked right.Since my $90 steak didn’t come with sides I ordered the smothered potatoes and fig Brussels as my sides. The Brussels were good, but again, the potatoes lacked any and all seasoning, and whatever sauce was on them tasted off or sour. We ate three bites and didn’t touch them the rest of the dinner. We finished with the bread pudding which wasn’t a bread pudding at all. It was an apple cobbler/apple pie. Now, it tasted great, and the meal ended on a high note because of it…. But it wasn’t a bread pudding.2 out of 5 is all that’s deserved here considering the price and quality of food are so far off from each other. The only reason it’s not a 1 is because of the amazing staff that helped us and waited on us.

The restaurant is very nice and the service was great as were the servers; however the food was much too expensive and the sides were much smaller than they used to be. We won't return.

Another delightful evening at The Fort Steakhouse! For a change, I opted for seafood, and the pistachio-encrusted snapper was amazing! As always, the service was first-rate, attentive and helpful without hovering, and cheerful and friendly, of course!

We had reservations for Saturday night for our anniversary and it we were seated immediately right in front of the kitchen in those red couches in front of the cowgirl portrait. Parking was typical parking downtown but the atmosphere in there was mixed. We dressed up a bit and some others weren't. Even the decor was a bit mixed in fancy but not. Anywho, the food was very good. We had the steak fondue appetizer dish and the tomato bisque. Probably the best bisque I've had. Then we had the ribs and the salmon. The fish was good and the ribs fell off the bone. Mac and cheese was creamy and the mashed potatoes were very good too. They gifted us creme brulee which was unfortunately the sweeter custard so it was very very sweet even with the thin sugar on top. We had Aaron as our server and he was very attentive and personable. We would for sure go back ?

Overall good food and the staff is friendly an attentive. Didnt seem as rememberable as the last time we went there. Small nitpicks didn't ruin the whole overall experience though.

Food was excellent . Talented kitchen . Gnocchi was pillow soft and perfection. Onion soup was great. Steaks and fish of the day were top shelf . Prices are high given location and decor but probably driven by the cost of prime beef and the overall dining experience. Service was excellent. They knew we were there for a leasurely dinner with family and they did not rush us. Tables were appropriately spaced for parties of 4 and were comfortable. I would definitely return when in the area.

We have been going to The Fort since it opened as Braford. The current management/ownership, experience was much more like the original Braford which we loved. We had stopped going for a while because it didn't seem worth the money. It is pricey but well worth it. Food was great, service great! Definitely recommend.

Had a lovely dinner at The Fort, and recommend for a special occasion. For starters we had had tuna tartar, a pile of small diced sashimi. I really enjoyed this and I am not a sushi/sashimi eater. I ordered the escargot served on a slice of their homemade bread with melted cheese and a wonderful sauce. as appetizers. Both were fantastic with nice presentation. Husband had 20oz KC steak and even after sharing brought about 1/3 home. It was grilled to a perfect medium rare-so tender. Added with truffle butter (meh, would not get again) carmelized onion (again meh, not what I call carmelized, but instead mushy) and mushrooms(yum!!!!!) I had the Lobster Trio, DeliciOus Main lobsters, no need for more explanation, but they served it swimming in a broth and I was NOT happy, so moved it to another plate. They don’t offer a surf and turf per se , so we shared our meals. Skip the cocktails, overpriced for run of the mill for $16. My husband enjoyed their porter beer on tap. Save room for the bourbon bacon brownie for dessert.. oh my. Our server Julianne was attentive and explained the menu and the specials. She has an outstanding knowledge of the menu and did not steer us wrong. It’s pricy but food was mostly exceptional. One major complaint- it took us a while to really read the menu and decide on courses and extras for your steak are all ala carte, so when we were basically asked to leave because of an incoming reservation, needless to say we were not happy! $440 with tip for a 2 person dining experience in no way shape or form can be rushed… so, to management -plan accordingly! Sit your waiting party at the bar and give them a free drink .. there were other ways to handle this. Totally inappropriate!
