Best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Seasoned, crispy but not even close to dry. Fantastic!

Friendly staff and excellent food makes this Soulful Hidden Gem a must try. The Collard Greens were perfect, coleslaw was spot on, the SoulRolls are amazing and don't get me started on the Chicken and Waffles. Definitely worth a try if you're into flavor...

Customer Feedback on Recent Experience
It’s not often that I feel the need to leave a less-than-pleasing review, as I genuinely enjoy highlighting positive and outstanding service. However, I believe it’s just as important to share constructive feedback when an experience falls short.
This morning, I ordered from Kinfolks—specifically the chicken biscuits, which I’ve had once before. My husband is a big fan and recommended them, so I was looking forward to enjoying a treat before our fishing trip. The woman who took my order was helpful and pleasant, which I appreciated.
Unfortunately, the food itself was a major disappointment. The chicken lacked any real flavor, and the biscuits were undercooked and doughy. I attempted to eat one biscuit, but it left a very unpleasant aftertaste. I couldn’t bring myself to eat the second one I ordered.
I decided to call in and express my concern, hoping for some acknowledgment or resolution. Instead, I was met with a simple “okay.” After an awkward pause, the young lady added, “Sorry you didn’t like the food.” I politely clarified that there’s a difference between personal taste and being genuinely disappointed with the quality. Still, there was no offer to remake the order or any indication that the issue was taken seriously.
It’s unfortunate, but it seems the quality at Kinfolks may vary depending on who’s working, and that inconsistency is not something I’m willing to gamble on again.

Paid $31 for the worst food, fried pork chops had more batter than meat, the soul roll was terrible, filled with old rice , Mac and cheese , greens they were over cooked very disappointed ☹️ definitely not going to be back, 40 minute wasted drive

Today I decided to stop by and pick up and oxtail dinner and turkey wings dinner both with yellow rice. I have order from this place several time. But today the rice was water down, blend, and distasteful. I called them to let them know they should try the rice before serving that batch since I had them in the past and the food wasn't bad. The girl who answer the phone responded back ain't nothing wrong with the rice the chef said it was good. Totally untrue. My husband and my son both complained about their blend rice. The fires was room temp and microwave, im caribbean if there's one thing we know how to make is rice. Poor customer service blend nasty food. 😕 I wouldn't be going back. Fed it to my dog

My family and I ordered a family meal last night from this restaurant Saturday night, May 31st. We order the 10-piece family meal with two large sides and four corn muffins. The chicken itself the batter was so salty we could hardly eat it, the mac and cheese was over salted also. Both of the sides the mac and cheese as well as the mashed potatoes and gravy were barely room temperature, they both had to be placed in the microwave to heat them up.. was not a fan of the corn Muffin it tasted and had more of a consistency of a piece of cake as opposed to a corn muffin. As far as it stands right now. Not a good experience for us at all and we all agreed that Popeyes is much better.

We were in Florida and we googled a soul food buffet. This restaurant came up in the search and it was about 20 minutes away from where we were staying. And it was worth the drive the price and the customer service per my 11-year-old nephew, was top tier. This is a hidden gem when it comes to soul food .

Having grown up in NYC & eaten fried chicken at Charlie’s, Sylvia’s & the Red Rooster, I can easily say that Kinfolks fried chicken is as good as any I’ve eaten in Harlem.
