Went here as the first place I visited in Port St. Lucie and man was I disappointed. Food was mediocre, 18% was already added to bill for a tip and we were severely overcharged for what we ordered. I ordered salmon, black beans and rice with mofongo. Wife ordered shrimp, moro rice and mofongo with a margarita. I had water. Bill was $106 and change. NEVER went back nor will I recommend this place to ANYONE!

Listen… I walked into Mofongo King like a normal human being and walked out like I needed a forklift.

First of all, that mofongo? Built like a brick. Not a side dish a structural foundation. If there’s ever a hurricane in Port St. Lucie, I’m hiding behind that thing. Garlic, flavor, soul… it tasted like somebody’s abuela stood in the kitchen whispering, “Eat, mijo.”

The pork? Crispy, juicy, and seasoned like it just won a Grammy for Best Supporting Meat. And those pickled onions on top? They came in like backup dancers adding drama and attitude.

The garlic sauce sitting on top of the mofongo like it owns the place? Elite behavior. I poured it on and immediately forgave everyone who ever wronged me.

Portions? Absolutely disrespectful. I ordered lunch and accidentally secured dinner and emotional support leftovers.

Service was on point, food came out hot, and the aroma alone probably raised property values in the plaza.

If you leave hungry, that’s on you.
If you leave without a food coma, you did it wrong.

Mofongo King was an amazing experience! The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out hot and fast. The mofongo was perfectly seasoned and some of the best I’ve had.
All the servers were friendly and attentive, and the red-headed waiter really stood out — very professional, welcoming, and made sure everything was perfect at our table. Great customer service all around.I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to friends and family!

Late December 2025: A few days after a long trip from Kansas to visit family in the area, we decided to swing by The Mofongo King as we had seen references to it on the internet. We were there a little on the late side so the place was not crowded and making service personable and fast(er). We ordered mofongos all around (why order something else with that name?) while we do not necessarily always order the house specialty, this time we felt (and were all craving) the house specialty as the best choice. We had Conch (Carrucho), Grilled Chicken (Churrasco de Pollo), Gralic Chicken Breast (Pechuga al Ajillo), Fried Beef (Carne Frita), and Fried Red Snapper (Chillo Frito). They were all delicious and the portions were adequate.

As a bori from New York visiting I had to show love. The restaurant was beautiful, service was on point the food while being good might need some tweaking. I came for the main dish MOFONGO!!!
While I’m used to it always having chicharron i understand in today’s era where people are picky but the mofongo i had was more reminiscent to a mangu than mofongo. Im used to mofongo being semi crispy garlicky and tender, the mofongo I had wasn’t that at all but I understand hopefully it was an off day but other than that everything else was on delicious. I definitely would go back next time I’m in town to continue to show support.

So we decided to go on a 2hr journey to find a place called The Mofongo King.
Located in Port Saint Lucie, Florida
it is a place that serves homelike Spanish comfort food, just like grandma made.
“The food here is absolutely delicious!
Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor.
This location was chosen because it was
Seen via Instagram all the way from Bayamon, Puerto Rico.
Many people say or give good reviews however I/we will say they got this one right.
we would have to say that the food was Delicious and the price and quantity is worth every cent.
The atmosphere was pleasant, and the entire staff were delightful and absolutely amazing! With Perfectly balanced flavors, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection.
Remember that Great food is the heart of any memorable dining experience and
The Mofongo King will be one for the books.
It’s a must-try for anyone visiting.

Not what I expected. Came from Miami to eat here since I follow on Social Media and very disappointed with the food. The arroz con gandules is listed as yellow rice and that is exactly what it is. We order chicharrón and it was mostly fat and the skin was not crispy .Very disappointing!

Unfortunately, not what I expected. The mofongo was very very soft. No chicharon, the chicken was suppose to be a la plancha..this was bland chopped chicken breast no color. Totally disappointed. Moreso I highly recommended to my youngest son, and truthfully I should not had even ordered. Hope yall can bring back the real authenticity that y'all had some years ago.
