A new favorite spot. Had the pleasure of dining here last night. New ownership and lots of exciting things happening here. This is going to be our favorite place to see live music outdoors this spring & summer. All the food we had was great. Philly Steak Sandwich, fried shrimp basket and loaded fries. The key lime pie was delicious too. We will be regulars here on out. Thanks for all the info on the restaurant Beth! Wonderful service.

Joe and Beth are awesome. The wings are terrific. Try the house sauce. Everything was delicious.

Such a cool spot, but seems to hold itself back. Went over the weekend and there were no burgers or wings available. We had oysters - there was no doubt they were preshucked sitting in a fridge, tasted pretty bad. The Tuna Dip is amazing!! Probably best thing there. The Fish sandwhich is excellent as well. We also had sweet potato fries that were brought out black (burnt), really?... Made up for it with excellent onion rings. Like I said, really neat spot, but some of these food issues needs serious addressing.

Good spot for a cold beer but the food did not meet expectations. The dinning area is small and the bartender is also the server. She was great, very friendly and kept our drinks full. But when the food came out the shrimp was over cooked ( rubbery to the point it squeaked when chewed) and the smoked tuna dip had a grey appearance, it was also slightly warm whereas it should have been chilled. The restaurant has a rugged appearance which could be charming if the food thrilled us.The mahi sandwich needed a bit more blackened seasoning and was kinda bland also the bun wasn’t very good. Lastly, do not order the green beans. I’m not sure how but the green beans tasted like a cigar and were totally inedible.

Very disappointing. We ordinarily LOVE the Oar House and want for it to succeed and stay open, but it's going down hill. Seems like the management or ownership is getting burnt out. Went here tonight for Mother's Day. Place was empty except for one other table. On Mother's Day. Waiter told us he was exhausted from having to work the entire day when it was just a wait staff of two. When your server tells you how tired they are when you just sat down, experience is going to be bad. We ordered grilled oysters as an appetizer since my mother in law loves oysters. I then ordered grilled mahi and my wife and mother in law ordered shrimp scampi. Both my mother in law and I asked for a glass of chardonnay, and they told us they were "out" of chardonnay. Out? How is a restaurant out of chardonnay? This is what I mean by "burnt out." Just no excuse for management to allow their stock of the most common white wine to run out...especially when there's a general store selling it literally five minutes away. Especially on Mothers Day. At 6PM. Sure enough, here come our entrees. What happened to our appetizer? Oh yeah! The waiter tells us. He'll put it in right now. This is the THIRD TIME the Oar House has forgotten to deliver appetizers and has attempted to deliver it WITH the entree. Call me old school, but appetizers are to be delivered BEFORE the main course. So I told the waiter to forget it. I'm not eating oysters for dessert. So my mahi was the worst piece of mahi I have ever tasted. Dry and SWEET. Sweet? Did we tick the kitchen staff off by ordering dinner at 6PM when they were ready to go home? Did they dump sugar on my mahi? No, I didn't send it back. Maybe I should have, but I didn't. I just wanted to pay the bill and go. Then I had a dirty plate sitting in front of me unbussed for 20 minutes. Finally the waiter comes to the table and says, "Can I take these dirty plates because we want to go home." Not making this up. Clearly the staff was tired and annoyed we were there and wanted to go home, so they were hustling us out the door. Extremely disappointing.

Every thing was great, but 19.00 raw oysters were a little high
