My family has been frequenting this restaurant since March 2020 when they were located at Race Track and SR13. We knew the owners and watched them give everyone the very best food and service available. I read the reviews and understand the negative reviews come from people that expected a typical “American” type breakfast when what this restaurant was serving was a typical Belgian offering. There were also people that were fired from the restaurant that made terrible statements that were totally fabricated. The sad part of this story is the business has closed because of policies and restrictions handed down to business owners that are foreign citizens that almost guarantee that a business will fail.. For all of you that experienced this incredible restaurant, the owners will never forget your following. For those of you that missed this wonderful European restaurant, I’m sorry! The owners are back in Belgium and they will be missed as much as their food will be missed.
Great Belgian food, good staff, prices are good. This was our first time trying this place and we really liked it. They sell chocolate and other products as well. I will be going back again on the weekends. It seemed like the owner knows a lot of the customers as she was going to different tables to say hi to them and I think that was great. Defiantly recommend this place if you are in the Mandarin area towards Julington Creek.
Great service. Very good food. Nice variety on menu. Friendly staff.??
We have eaten at this very clean, lovely restaurant for months. We have brought several friends with us and we have all had a wonderful experience. The staff is very courteous, kind, and professional. The owner visits your table to check about your food, experience and pleasantries. Makes us feel like it is a place from the days when the owners cared about the customers. Not the usual big, get the food and hurry places. As for a charge for a debit or credit card, nope, not happening. The beef stew with potato cakes is so yummy! My hubby loves the crepes, all of them! We have nothing but good to say about this place, and I highly recommend it to anyone.
This is a wonderful restaurant with great food and happy atmosphere. If you are in the Mandarin area I encourage you to stop an enjoy the food and service.
Service was OK food was excellent high-quality
A friend and I dined here for lunch recently. My meal was good and reasonably priced. I ordered a Belgian coffee drink which was small and overpriced. Not very good. Toast came with my meal. When I asked the waitress for some jam, she told me that would a charge of $3. Instead, she brought me over a jar of Belgian jam that I could purchase for my meal for $5 and take the jar home. I paid for the jar. My friend’s entree was eggs, vegetables and cheese, somewhat like an omelette, When the waitress brought her order, my friend told the waitress that it was missing the cheese. The waitress apologized and walked off. In most restaurants, the entree would be taken away and re-made OR the bill would be credited for the entree. Neither happened. The waitress also informed us that we would pay a surcharge for using credit or debit cards. This used to be an illegal practice, however, it is now legal, but unethical. In essence, the owner is recapturing the credit card fees by charging back to customers. During the peak lunch hour, the restaurant was occupied by four other people. Now I see why. In the post-Covid world, businesses need to keep their customers and not alienate them! While the meal was unique, I found the lack of customer service and credit card fee to be reasons not to return or recommend.
Our favorite breakfast place in Jacksonville amazing food amazing customer service!
My son truly enjoyed his experience.
Tried this yummy place today!! Gluten free waffles and crepes standard. The large egg with cinnamon dish is French toast!!! The waffle with Nutella was the kids portion and look at all the fruit in the Fruit and waffle large portion. Way too big for me to eat and so we have a little take Home treat. Which is still as big as my plate. The batter is not overly sweet so indulging in the Belgian syrup was easy!! It is all made to order so you do have wait for the perfection that comes to the table. I believe considering gluten free prices elsewhere the prices were reasonable!!

I love this place.Food is amazing, staff is great.Very friendly. The owners are amazing. Always tend to their customers and check to see how everything is.I come here very often and never once had an issue. The business is always clean, tables. Utensils, plates everything is clean. No odor, bathrooms, everything is clean.I've read some of the other negative reviews and I don't understand how you can lie and post food that is not even on their menu.Belgium sweets does not serve seafood much less clam chowder. If you want to lie and try ruin someone's business you better valid points because non of what you recent negative reviewers posted is true.My recommendation is go to Belgium Sweets, and experience it. You will not be disappointed
Hesitant to write this review because staff was kind, when we were unhappy and the owner and the server were attentive as we were visibly disgruntled. My son had a plain Belgium Waffle….he rated it 5/5.The Belgium coffee was strong, smooth but a bitter finish….I would rate it 4/5. My uncles french toast was “eggy” 1/5 - it was explained later that it is the Belgium style. My aunt and I ordered croquet which was a 0/5 - it was a monte cristo croquet. I expected more of a fried doughy type meal with the Swiss, ham, and strawberry jam in the center. Thought it was an interesting combination so I wanted to try it. I was surprised when a sandwich came out with large strawberries falling out as I was trying to take bites and a raw runny eggs on top. The bread was soggy. The server, like I said, was kind but very bland and aloof to questions about the menu. She could’ve been new? But I think she was doing her best. We Then the owner/manager explained its a Belgium restaurant kitchen and Belgium European style food. Eh, took it for what it was, didn’t want to send anything back. I don’t frequent mandarin so I probably won’t try it again. I chose this place on a whim and I was meeting my aunt and uncle here as a midpoint to from where we both live. I should’ve probably just had a simple waffle.
First of all…the food!! OMG!! Excellent! The coffee…especially the iced coffee!!! Amazing! Let’s add that to the great service and wonderfully warm owner and atmosphere and it’s waffles for The Win!!!!
The food is always outstanding, quick service, cheerful servers. The price is great for generous portions of delicious and authentic Belgian food. One of our Favorite restaurants in Jacksonville!!
I go here all the time . Everything is spotless, food in fantastic, price very reasonable. They never rush you, and the owner comes out to say good morning/ afternoon. Such a great place!
