Wow! Great experience! Food was excellent, drinks were good too. It was unexpected scenery in an unassuming location. You're paying for quality here...and getting it. Steaks were spot on! Our party raved on the Filet mignon, ribeye, and prime rib. Will definitely be back and telling others.

We had a wonderful time and meal. The food was delicious. We will definitely be going back. We ordered a House Cut Delmonico Steak and New Zealand Rack of Lamb.. We spit each dish so we both could have both entrees. We started our meal with the Lobster Bisque. For dessert we had House made Coconut Custard Cream Pie. I had a glass a wine and my Wife had a Peach Bourbon cocktail that she thoroughly enjoyed. You can also order and pickup anything on the menu.Checkout their website for specials and more. We put this on our visit often list of restaurants. You won't be disappointed. The food is very good.

I’ve lived in the villages 9 yr and rarely leave. Except to go to the rose plantation. The current owners/managers know how to create an elegant experience. My brother and sister in law were celebrating their 30 wedding anniversary and they loved it
My wife and I went to the Rose Plantation for Easter lunch (12:45 pm reservation)Our order number was #83582Our bill number was #129861Our server was ElenaMy wife had the James River Oysters: the oysters were very small and overall the dish was very fishy suggesting that something was not very freshMy wife did not complain to the serverI had the Lobster Bisque and found it to be goodWe both had the Caesar Salad and found it to be good. My wife thought the dressing was a little heavyMy wife did not complain to the serverI had the Shrimp and Grits. I found the shrimp and tomato gravy to be very good. I did not care for the gritsI did not complain to the server but rather told the server I thought the dish was good (which it mostly was)My wife had the Black Angus Fillet, which just happened to be the most expensive entree on the menu. This was the dish that lead to this review. After receiving our main entrees the server asked how our food was. My wife told her that she had a problem with the filet because it was too tough. Not a common problem with such filets.We did not ask for a manager because we mistakenly assumed the server would notify her supervisor of the problem with the meal which apparently never happened since NO ONE came by to inquire of the problem. Needless to say my wife DID NOT eat the filetI understand from reading the management responses to other reviews that the management requires such problems be identified before the food product is consumed (WHICH MY WIFE CLEARLY AND PRECISELY DID TO THE SERVER)The management responses also state that they would take action to correct the issue or credit the bill once notified (WHICH DID NOT HAPPEN)I look forward to the management response to this review explaining to me how we failed to let them knowIt has always been my understanding that when the server is notified of an issue, that issue is then relayed to the server’s supervisor who in turn follows up with the customerApparently this is a process that is unfamiliar to the staff at the Rose PlantationSince no one at the Rose Plantation appeared to care about the poor quality of my wife’s entree, when the server was clearing our plate my wife asked for the filet to be boxed so she could give it to our dog (the only way that piece of meat could be appreciated)
Our experience was amazing. the barramundi was the best (my personal favorite). Everything we had was SO good from the appetizer to the dessert. Our server Deja was not only helpful but just a joy to chat with. Our 15th anniversary was perfected with our dinner at The Rose Plantation! Thank you!

Wonderful old Florida charm. We have been to this restaurant probably 20 times and it always has been good, really good.The latest visit was a completely different experience. Maybe a new chef? A new food vendor? It went from a five star experience on food to a two. We will give it another try, but if it’s the same, it will be our last time there.
