Wow!! A true French Bakery! It surprised us upon entering the door. We were amazed at all the Fabulous French Antiques and Decor. The simplicity yet Glamorous atmosphere throughout the store is like a trip abroad. Oh...don't even get me started on the sweet treats and Breads. The flavors of anise, chocolate, pistachios, almond...oh la la. For my sister and I it was a trip down memory lane to Our Mothers house who was French Belgium, and my brother who was the Personal Chef for Sax. We tip our Chapeau...Bon AppétitVegetarian options: Always inquire, get the MacaroonsParking: Plenty of room behind store and on the side street on one side

We have always wanted to go to this bakery since it opened from a thrift shop. We were always hesitant to go inside with the random items out front making it look like they are having a garage sale. Inside is the same thrift shop appeal with random “French” things. The case of pastries looked appealing but immediately was disappointed at the way some of these were made. Keep in mind my wife is a classical trained French pastry chef and I’m a home pastry chef. We ordered the chocolate croissant, blueberry scone and the raspberry lemon drop. Immediately the feel is off and the pastries are mushy. Taking a bite and I can tell the croissant is not made there and taste like something from Costco. I got the scone because it didn’t even look correct but I wanted to try it. The scone was battered and almost created like a 5 year old tries to help make a cake in the kitchen and then tried to bake it and was more of a fluffy cake like consistency. The lemon drop thing and croissant tasted as if it had preservatives and the custard tasted as if it came from a box. I’m sorry but this was as expected and is definitely a Eustis take on a French bakery.

As a French, I was extremely disappointed The offering looks like any American supermarket bakery. No religieuses, no éclairs, no tartelettes, no flans, no millefeuilles, no napoleon, no Paris-Brest not even a chausson. I tried the bread pudding it was dry. I'll stick to Yalaha (but it's so damn far away)

Finally NOT disappointed in a bakery!! So often the food just is so "meh". Not this place. Honestly, SO delicious!! The turnovers, the croissants, the trifles, we had them all and they were amazing. This bakery can BAKE!!

I have been going to "A Wish Or Two Ago" for many years now, both at the Rt 44 Location near Grand Island before the building was sold out from under them, and now at the new Eustis location that opened last July. I have lived in Paris, Manhattan, and San Francisco, towns all known for fabulous bakeries, and I have never found a better place to buy my croissants, baguettes, morning pastries, dessert pastries, even Crème Brule, various Quiches, and monumental special holiday desserts.I used to make my own croissants and baguettes; having tasted those made by Phillipe, I no longer do. We entertain, including some formidable dinner parties, on a very regular basis, and Kathleen and Phillipe ALWAYS supply some aspect of the meals. For the special occasions, there are always the flavored croissant (chocolate; almond cream, etc) and Bavarian Cream Eclairs, but for HOLIDAYS there are things like a decadent peach glazed pie that Phillipe did this year for Thanksgiving (also in apple) and the masterpiece, his Bûche De Noël - the best I've ever had.Funny story - there's a post here on Google Maps from a woman who complained about an "off-taste" in one of Phillipe's croissants her husband brought home; I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that he brought home ALMOND CREAM croissants, and expecting a plain butter croissant, her taste buds were shocked... This is why we tasted with our mouths, not our expectations! :) I've been tasting great food for over seventy years, and the work these two do at A Wish or Two Ago is of the highest caliber.

My husband just brought me home 2 crossaints from here that were beautifully made with air pockets, flakey, buttery - perfect...then I bit into one and got a mouthful of cheap hand lotion. Whoever made the dough or handled them after they were cooked didnt bother to get lotion off their hands. I had to throw them away and rinse my mouth until I couldnt taste the lotion anymore. I tried to call them to tell them so I didnt have to give them a bad review but they wont answer the phone...theres a message on the vouce mail from Thanksgiving? Rookie mistake for a fancy pastry joint.

I enjoyed the baked goods but I bought a wedge of Brie that turned out to be 19 days expired and moldy inside. Gross.

Quaint little bakery. The bread is amazingly scrumptious! If you are puzzled with what bread goes with your dinner, the service help is very knowledgeable. What a treat. The cranberry walnut bread is a must.

We are so happy and blessed that this bakery is open again, and so conveniently located right downtown they have incredible macaroons. The God’s bread and charcoal bread are two of our absolute favorites. Anything lemon and all the croissants ? and macaroons Incredible Christian people and the best baked goods around!

Lovely building and the aroma is yummy when you enter. I visited the bakery and selected a pastry . French pastry is delicate , airy and layered . My cream cheese/lemon pastry wasn’t fresh . It was soggy , not light and airy . Great taste but it was days old . Next time I visit I will inquire as to when my selection was baked .
