Very delicious food and friendly people! We bought a couple of hand made wooden bats for Halloween that the owner Becky makes! Felt like I was just going home for dinner :)

Don't pass up their loaded baked potatoes, especially with brisket or burnt ends on them. All their meats are very good.
Big portion of brisket, moist and well flavored. Good customer service by owner & staff.

please just buy your own meat and cook it, 4.7 stars and it tasted like sand and paper it was SO dry , not an ounce of sauce but by the food taste I'm not sure if I'd trust their sauce this was a waste of $50 and an hour.
Great BBQ and even better people. They gave me some ribs to take home for my dog, who I sadly have to put down tomorrow. That kindness meant so much — great food and even greater hearts

It was just a few hours ago that I saw Mahon's BBQ post a reminder about their free chicken Sunday. Remembering the brisket sandwich, strawberry cake, and banana pudding i had from them earlier this summer, i quickly gave in to the cravings.
I opened my GPS to see its a 57 minute drive from Altamonte Springs (23 minutes from the Oakland exit to Groveland seems kinda quick, no?)...ANYWAY I hit the road 🚗💨with an ETA of 7:30, I hoped that was a respectable time as I knew they closed at 8.
Unfortunately, there was a car accident prior to the Groveland Publix - (Everyone seemed alright 🙏🏿). However, a single file line with every vehicle trying to skip ahead of you definitely came with a significant delay.
I wasn't walking inside Mahons until about 7:46. My girlfriend and I were greeted with smiles and lots of hospitality. As we put in our order, we were asked how much chicken we would like. we said 2 orders and mentioned there were other mouths that would love to be fed. They proceed to offer us enough chicken for 6. Thank you #1
We tried to order certain menu items only to learn they were sold out - such as their boiled peanuts and brisket- reasonably so. They instead gave us extra potato salad - delicious! Thank you #2
A kind blonde woman packing our food then asked if we we've ever had burnt ends... no ma'am, never. She then filled up a container of burnt ends and said its on them. Thank you #3!
As she continued to pack the food, we spoke to a gentleman as he devoured a delectable looking plate of food. I told him how this was our second visit and how amazing the first visit was. as we're chopping it up, the lady had finished packing the order and tried to hand us the bags. Yes, bags.
puzzled because they never took my payment, i attempted to remind them of this, when the gentleman told us we're good, the food is on them. We were in disbelief. It had been a long day, a long September matter fact, and this generosity and kindness meant a lot to us. Thank you #4.
Only a sliver of food remains and bellies are full. Thank you so much Mahons! We'll be sure to visit on a weekday to support your fine establishment.

The food here is really good. Everything I’ve tried is delicious. They are also so friendly which is a nice change from other places. Way better than any main stream bbq joint out there also

Shame on the Cooks! 😳 Sooo disappointing!☹️ We’re new here, but the Advertising and pricing got us! We said that we should have known better when we didn’t smell the smoke! 🤦🏽♀️ I literally doctored up our three meals!!! 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ NOTHING Fresh! well maybe the stovetop watery under cooked mac n cheese, NOTHING Seasoned! well if you count the canned greens. The chicken dry n bland, ribs n tips had to season and toss on my air/grill to fully cook. Had to make my own sauce bcuz theirs was watery tomato sauce. No saving the thick baked? beans they had some kinda shredded meat in them. Sorry!!! 😢 but not Sorry!!! 😣

Stopped here for lunch on my birthday and was blown away by the food! The pulled chicken sandwich, baked beans, deviled eggs, and banana pudding was absolutely perfect. And the staff were so friendly and welcoming!

Definitely a hidden gem! We were on our way to Tampa and I was in the mood for BBQ. I’m glad we stopped, I think this is the best brisket I’ve ever had. At first I was skeptical about the small side of homemade bbq sauce (we got it Togo) but it’s so delicious and was plenty enough, you can also add additional sauce for .50 (which I would recommend it’s like liquid gold). My husband got burnt ends and they were delicious as well. Will definitely stop again next time we’re in the area! I can’t forget to mention it was cheap too!

Omg! Real BBQ it is!! I wish I would of gotten a picture but my fork was too quick shoveling it in my mouth! From the time we road past thru town we couldn't wait to come back thru on our way home and try Mahon's!! The pork melted in my mouth and the sauce's are phenomenal! Definitely bypass Hardee's and eat here. So yum!
