This, Mascotte/Groveland area, local BBQ restaurant serves fantastic meals! If you are looking to get an affordable meal that slow cooked and a taste of the south, you’ve found the right spot with Mahon’s Barbecue. There are seasonal and holiday catering services that are offered too. I highly recommend the sweet tea, smoked chicken, and baked beans. However, you can’t go wrong with trying anything off their savory menu. 🇺🇸☀️❤️

Bare basic BBQ. It’s the only BBQ in close proximity. They constantly run out of brisket and their burgers. I have tried placing many orders and always get an “I’m sorry” call. Is that a testament on their BBQ? Not in my opinion. Their food is nothing to write home about. This just tells me that they don’t know how to stock, plan, or manage their operation.

We’ve eaten BBQ at places all over the US. This was one of the worst we’ve ever had. The brisket was chewy and flavorless. The pork had the worst gamey taste I can ever recall. The cook and what appeared as the owner were nice. If you leave a tip you will still need to get your own food. Never going back but I hope they can turn these issues around.

Not only is the food delicious, but the owners & guests are so friendly...feels like family! And, I was pleasantly surprised to find that on Sunday evenings, they hand out BBQ chicken to those in need. I will definitely return.

My name is David, I’m a OTR driver with Carroll Fulmer. Any time I get to Groveland Florida I make sure to eat here at Mahones!! Excellent food, plenty of it and awesome folks working there!! Tender pulled pork, great potatoe salad and the banana pudding can’t be beat!! They definitely go above and beyond to make the food awesome and the owner has been known to bring the food to the driver at Carroll Fulmer who can’t get to them!! Great job folks!! Definitely keep it up!!
