This place is a hidden gem! Prices are very reasonable and portion sizes will fill you up. We discovered this place after discovering our favorite seafood restaurant in Pensacola Beach had an almost 2 hour wait. We are so glad they did because it led us to Papa Nalu Aloha Grill. The restaurant was very clean, staff friendly and attentive, and the food amazing. We are considering going back before we leave the area. If you choose to visit this restaurant, you won't regret it!
So my first visit was on Valentine’s Day and I ordered the Tuesday/Wednesday special. It was GREATTTT. It was so good, I just had to come back. So today was that day. It was NOT good. I ordered the same thing for takeout (I switched up my side) and the chicken didn’t taste like the same. It even looked different (which you’ll see in the pictures). Now I’m in limbo because I don’t like going to food establishments that aren’t consistent.

If you are from Hawaii or ever lived there, do not expect it to be anything like the food in Hawaii or you will be very disappointed. While the owner is from Hawaii, the food here is not close to being as good as the food in Hawaii. Service was okay. We usually go there during the day. They young waitress that usually serves us is great. The evening side was okay. Both are his daughters. The food will be good for those who have never lived in Hawaii. The Mac Salad is nothing like the Mac Salad you get in Hawaii and the Huli Huli chicken isn't Huli Huli chicken, but rather boiled or grilled chicken covered in some kind of sweet sauce that I was later told was a family recipe (which tastes nothing like Huli Huli). If you come in with an open mind and lower your expectations, you will love the food. Atmosphere is okay. Usually pretty quiet.

Absolutely love this place. We go about once a month and enjoy it every time. My two favorites would be the Huli Huli Chicken plate and the Mauna Kea Shrimp.

Got the chicken katsu cuz I miss home! To the owners, I’m sorry my partner asked if your husband was a large man. They catered to my allergies thanks!!See you guys again soon!
There was no red pork in the Saimin, that's the best part. Was my favorite place to eat lunch. Guess I'll have to move on.

The beef strip with rice is delicious as well as the pork. The musubi is delicious and generous serving. Best dipping sauces too! Staff was friendly and helpful.

We had three fantastic meals. The wait staff was friendly and made great suggestions. We had the grilled mahi, mahi tacos and saimin soup.
