Soul Train Express is fantastic. Food was what I have been searching for. I'm new to Winter Haven and was excited to see a place where I could get some of my old home (MD) cooking without the flair of the islands. Sweet potatoes, mac and cheese, greens and fried catfish, wooo! Now, the only downside is it is not a fast grab and go but the super good music and friendly staff makes the wait a part of the experience.
Parking: This is a food truck which is parked next to a parking garage. There seems to be another entrance on the next street but I did not go that way.

I ordered a fried chicken meal with mac & cheese and yams. The chicken wasn’t sitting under a heat lamp. It was cooked to order, well seasoned and worth the wait! No feathers (yuck) which means that the chicken is clean and I wouldn’t eat it any other way! The true star of the show was that homemade “not your ordinary” garlic Parmesan sauce. (I added the “not your ordinary” because it’s really not). Listen…it was so good made me want to slap my momma! Come here, momma! ?
The mac & cheese was creamy, but it didn’t have much seasoning. Not a problem for me as it allows people to season to their liking, which is exactly what I did and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The candied yams? Delicious! When I tell you that I savored every bite of that meal…know that I’m saying what I mean and I mean what I say! To sum it all up…“I’ll be back!” (in my Arnold Schwarzenegger voice).?
Definitely worth the drive..ordered so much and ate it all!! Everyone was happy and satisfied..wish she was closer to

It was okay seasoned good and came hot still. Fish was fishy. Some of the chicken was black to the bone. Yams was good just needed to be cooked a little more. Mac and cheese we didn’t like at all no flavor. Greens were ok not really seasoned but good once added some hot sauce. Overall good but for the price it was good for delivery would I go back maybe on a day the not as busy. But it definitely wouldn’t be my first choice

First time visitors from the UK. We've never eaten this style of food before. We chose The Soul Train Express as we're staying locally and the Google reviews were good (5*). We were not disappointed! My husband is a "traditional" eater not liking to experiment, whereas I'm happy to try new flavours. He ordered chicken wings, french fries and collard greens (he ate the lot!). I had fried fish, cabbage and mac cheese... lovely! We'll be back before the end of our visit. A food truck is a different experience for us but we enjoyed it. As I said the food was great and the service was friendly and professional. Thank you for a new experience.

I ordered pickup, and am not familiar with the town, couldn't find the store, didn't know it was a food truck. This is possibly the BEST soul food that I have ever had, including from brick and mortar. The truck was clean, the service was on point but nothing surpassed the excellenct taste of the food. If you are in the area, including Davenport, GO! I will be back.
