Soul Train Express is fantastic. Food was what I have been searching for. I'm new to Winter Haven and was excited to see a place where I could get some of my old home (MD) cooking without the flair of the islands. Sweet potatoes, mac and cheese, greens and fried catfish, wooo!
Now, the only downside is it is not a fast grab and go but the super good music and friendly staff makes the wait a part of the experience.

I ordered a fried chicken meal with mac & cheese and yams. The chicken wasn’t sitting under a heat lamp. It was cooked to order, well seasoned and worth the wait! No feathers (yuck) which means that the chicken is clean and I wouldn’t eat it any other way! The true star of the show was that homemade “not your ordinary” garlic Parmesan sauce. (I added the “not your ordinary” because it’s really not). Listen…it was so good made me want to slap my momma! Come...

It was okay seasoned good and came hot still. Fish was fishy. Some of the chicken was black to the bone. Yams was good just needed to be cooked a little more. Mac and cheese we didn’t like at all no flavor. Greens were ok not really seasoned but good once added some hot sauce. Overall good but for the price it was good for delivery would I go back maybe on a day the not as busy. But it definitely wouldn’t be my first choice
