So I went to the restaurants of which I thought had the best Bite 30 menus earlier this year. I did my due diligence, posted my pictures on social media, and used my hashtags. I ended up winning a gift card to a Bite 30 restaurant! I check my mail later, and there it is, a gift card to the Broken Spoon. A new place to try! I was very excited. So I hoof it up here after work one day, and it is a great looking spot. Lots of excellent patio seating. The indoor seating is either cozy and bodega-like, or there are beautiful lakeside views. We got a lakeside view, and started to look at the eclectic menu.I can't quickly find an online menu, so I'll just paraphrase. The first think I tried was the house fried kettle chips with the whole blue cheese and bacon and balsamic on top. Very good. You can't mess this up. Very crispy, very balsamicy, and the blue cheese, so good. A classic app.I followed up with some chicken wings. I think they were some sort of spicy garlic flavor. They were crispy and juicy and nice. A+ wings.Thennn I had some chicken satay skewers, I think they were called. Chicken on a stick. Well seasoned. And a peanut sauce on the side. Solid.Thennnnn I tried the wildest thing of all. A martini glass with all three, a yoghurt-based dip, a pesto dip, and a salsa, all in the Same Glass. I've never seen anything like it. It was served with tortilla chips and soft pita bread. Surprisingly, it worked. I don't recommend trying to make this at home, because you'll probably mess it up, but here, it worked.I finished off with a nice slice of tiramisu that was the epitome of four stars. I was a fan. I was a fan of this whole place. It was a good birthday dinner, and if I ever am in Heathrow and I get hungry, I'll come back.
If you're looking for the best food in Lake Mary your search stops here! Based on Google reviews I knew the food would be good but I had not idea how great both the food and the people behind it would be. My experience started with a greeting from Travis who graciously made my new favorite drink called a Lychee martini. At his recommendation I ordered the Sea Scallop Gnocchi, which turned out to be amazing and is one of the many reasons I will return. As I enjoyed my food and drinks both Mena and Chef Dee introduced themselves and we began the 1st of many conversations throughout the night. Mena and Chef Dee shared so much with me about their passion for food and culture which is very reflective in the food they serve. At one point Mena shared that they have fruit trees that produce Lychee and Mango and shortly thereafter she had some samples of then all for me to true. It was like this was a part of my family I had yet to meet and their hospitality only continued! Chef Dee proceeded to tell me details about his background and how he can cook to order just about anything anyone would want right here in his kitchen. We talked about his wonderful dessert options and I chose the Bread Pudding with a whiskey glaze sauce and well that is now the 17th reason to come back to The Broken Spoon. We continued to talk over the dessert and I shared with them how grateful I was for both the food but also their company. Upon leaving I ran back and asked to take a photo with them all as I hear if you don't take a pic it never happened so I did! It's hard to ever find these kind of connections in a world surrounded by big corporations and chain restaurants and I am very fortunate to have been able to not only meet the owners but get to know them. Thank you Travis, Mena and Chef Dee for an unforgettable experience! I'll see you soon!
Vegetarian options: So many options and they will also cook off menu.
The Broken Spoon is incredible! The attention to detail the minute you sit down at your table. Heather is on point with her recommendation of the Pad Thai! The entire evening was a pleasure to be there with first class service! At the end we met the chef and his authenticity and humility asking my husband and I how we enjoyed our meals. Incredible and definitely coming back this is our place to dine!
I have been to the Broken Spoon for brunch twice now (in less than a week). Both trips were nothing short of great. I have lived in the area a while and would have not expected this restaurant in this location. It is a hidden gem. Food is delicious and service is amazing. Heather is the best. Try the Bloody Mary and magical dumpling that comes with it. Had the Seafood Benedict and that was really good as was the sausage gravy. 10/10 recommended as a chill brunch spot with good prices, food, and service!
The Asian fusion component of the food was done very well...the flavors were incredible. Very nice presentation too. We are glad the chef came by at the conclusion of the meal, because he were able to personally thank him. Heather also did an exceptional job waiting our table too. The food was reasonably priced as well. We dined inside. The decor is certainly not 5 star, but the place was clean and the ambiance was nice, considering the lake view. The only complaint we had was the corner of the dining area where we were seated was a little warm and starting to make a few people uncomfortable. However, the staff was quick to remedy the issue by bringing a fan over to that area, which corrected the issue. For that reason, no stars taken away. (We were there for the food!) It was the first time there for all 11 of us and after everything was said and done, no one had any complaints about their meal. A lot of compliments were given and we decided to go back again.
Loved the food!I learned about this restaurant thanks to Bite30. I’m so glad we tried it! The service was phenomenal! The food was so delicious! The whole vibe was perfect! Will definitely come back again!
My first visit here. Had the best Lobster Bisque, Pad Thai, Chicken Marsala and super delicious Bread Pudding. Service was wonderful! Heather took real good care of us. Met the owner and Chef who was very friendly. My husband and I are looking forward to going back and tasting other delicious dishes on the menu.
We had the Garlic Parmesan Wings, Salmon, and Pho (today’s special) for dinner, and Chocolate Crème Brûlée and Mango Sticky Rice for dessert. They were out of the White Beans they normally serve with the Salmon, so they gave me garlic mashed potatoes instead. The Salmon was cooked perfectly, and the mashed potatoes were the best I’ve ever had. My girlfriend got the Pho, and the broth was very flavorful, not bland at all, and had not a trace of fat. The desserts were delicious, too! I can’t recommend this place enough, and we will definitely be back.
Broken Spoon is one of the best restaurants in Seminole County.Their breakfast brunch is to die for, with great variety.I highly recommend this place. Oh, and don't even mention the great atmosphere inside and outside with such an awesome golf course back drop! Please visit them. I can assure you that you won't regret it!
First they didn't have our reservation. $28 pp The restaurant just opened... Buffet food for Easter was digesting. Cold water eggs.. milky fish ... cinnamon toast pudding cold. I was very unhappy and will never go back.

A pretty nice and big place. Food portions are just right. The food tasted good. The food on the dish is well organized and decorated. You enjoyed the food and it's presentation.
We planned our 25th wedding anniversary/vow renewal celebration at the Broken Spoon. Chef Dee and his staff went above and beyond to make our day so Perfect. My guest told me the food prepared by Chef Dee was Delicious!! I would recommend the Broken Spoon to any looking to hold an event. You won't be disappointed.
Amazing food and an elegant/cozy atmosphere. Chef Dee loves what he does and seeing those that visit his restaurant. He truly deserves the business and is a treat to be around if he visits the table. Our waiter was also friendly and tentative. Thank you Chef Dee, keep up the good work! Do yourself a favor and check it out, it’s a great place for a date.
We decided to visit this restaurant near the Hyatt in Lake Mary. I cannot begin to say enough good things about it. The chef is amazing! We had the Broken Spoon chicken that was out of this world. The cocktails are unique and fabulous and we had chocolate creme brulee for dessert. I wasn't sure I would like chocolate creme brulee as I have never had it but it was out of this world. Our server could not have been more accommodating, even though they were pretty short staffed. I highly, highly recommend this restaurant. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed.
We have been dining at The Broken Spoon for months. Great variety of food (we love the fish sandwich, wings, and onion rings!), nice atmosphere and Chef Dee always aims to please! Service and food are extremely consistent! So convenient being next to Heathrow and and other neighboring communities!
