I have to say, my visit to El Ricon De Papa was a huge disappointment. Being Dominican, it pains me to say this, but I have to tell what happened so that others are not harmed as well. My family and I went to eat at the restaurant. (4 people) First of all, the service was slow as molasses on a cold day. We waited forever, only to discover that they didn't have what I had ordered. Well, I chose something else, but guess what! It was also not available. And mind you, the restaurant was empty, maybe that should have alerted us.The waitress tried to calm things down, promised the manager would figure it out. But surprise, surprise, no manager in sight until it was time to pay. And you know what? They didn't even apologize. Talk about rude. We ended up paying for three plates of mediocre food since mine never arrived, plus a forced tip, which was a slap in the face after the mess we had. And let's not even get started on the taste, it was like a poor imitation of real Dominican food. Bottom line: Save your money and your taste buds. Don't bother with El Ricon De Papa until they clean up their act, if that happens.

Good food, mixed picadera, rice and beans, churrasco, can't miss. They only have one person taking care of everything and it is a little slow. The music a little too loud. The Sancocho is ok, it never has multiple meats. The beers are not that cold. There is never cake. Right there in front they wash the cars. There is plenty of parking.

It's a small restaurant, gets loud with live group playing. Good service.Parking: In a shopping center. Busy during the day.

Went to this place as a recommendation today like around 11:30am. First thing that caught my attention was that there was a group of about 10+ people kicking it back, having a few beers and having a picadera that had everything..tostones, queso frito, salami, loganiza, pollo.. that right there impressed me cause the ambiance is like that.. go, eat and enjoy/have a good time. Then I placed 3 orders to go.. Chicharon de Pollo, Rabo and Bistec.. I also had the quipe and 4 yuca empanadas.. Verdict:EXCELLENT! That food was exactly on point. The portion is a lot and the flavor is authentic dominican. Flavor is fantastic! Here's the kicker.. I live in Doral (20 minute drive) and I expected for the empanadas to be soggy and tostones too, which they were, and its understandable cause of the moisture.... but the flavor was still in tact.. wowEveryone at home really loved the food. They loved everything.. not even one critique. The service... truly awesome. I met Jennifer and she was kind and explained the menu thoroughly.. She is extremely friendly and attentive.Overall.. this place is a must! It also awesome to hang out and eat very good.. Jennifer told me they have domino tables to play so if you add that, plus all the tv's they have with a bucket of beer and have that picadera platter to start off, on top of the excellent ambience, you will definitely enjoy your experience. Simply perfect!Definitely coming back!

My husband and I went to Rincon De Papa to eat dinner on Weds., 12/20/23 and we ordered a couple of entrees, but we both ate the Chicken Soup, which for some reason it didn't taste the same, like the other times that I have eaten it before.Anyway, after a few hours went by, my husband and I started to feel severe stomach cramps and feeling feverish and then I started vomiting and about 30 minutes later my husband also. So, we headed to Urgent Care because we were really getting worse. Once our blood work was done, the nurse said that we had encountered food containing Salmonella, so that's why we were feeling so bad due to food poisoning.I will never go there again, however, I will continue to go to Mangu, Pio Pio or when I am in the Miami area, I will eat at Milly's Dominican Restaurant on SW 8 St.
