The food is good, but servers are rude, they have a mess and take long serving sometimes just to talk with themselves or ignore the customers. They never give you a detailed receipt, I’ve already caught them overcharging 2 times, I won’t wait for the third. When they know someone or have friends they serve them huge plates, but otherwise portions have decreased while prices have increased. I refuse to go here anymore and will drive further for other places. Places like these take advantage because it’s the only fritanga around, but if you can go somewhere else, you’ll be better off.

This is my go to spot when i want to grab some lunch or dinner after work. They have multiple food items to choose from but their best by far is “La completa” comes with white rice or gallo pinto , churrasco , sweet plantain and you can add a fried cheese for a small fee!

I have been coming here for years and never have I received poor customer service like today. Looking from other recent reviews I am not the only one. Food quality is horrible. Salad was not fresh, steak dry and bland gallo pinto. So sad how this place has gone down.

I’ve been coming to Hormiga de Oro for years, and the food has always been pretty good.
However, I’ve recently noticed something that I feel compelled to share in hopes of encouraging improvement. As someone who speaks Spanish, I’ve observed a lack of courtesy and attentiveness toward customers who do not speak the language. On one occasion, an individual was left standing at the counter for over five minutes without being acknowledged by staff. This kind of disregard is disappointing and, unfortunately, not the first time I’ve witnessed it.
All customers—regardless of language or background—deserve to be treated with equal respect and attentiveness. I sincerely hope the team at Hormiga de Oro can take this feedback to heart and work toward a more inclusive and courteous experience for everyone. The food speaks for itself, and I’d love to see the service reflect the same level of care. Me gente we have to do better.

Went 2 days ago ordered gallo pinto with carne asada had extra a a juice and I paid x amount came back ordered the same ended up paying like 8 more from what I paid
