Having grown up with Arlo's Guthrie's song and living a few miles away from his home we had no choice but to have breakfast there one morning. The service was very personable and the breakfast was delicious!
The food here was awesome. The kids meals are generous, but not overwhelming. The mac n cheese was a big hit! Husband loved the wings and fried okra. The fried catfish sandwich was really good too! The waitress was friendly and the service was quick! I’d go out of my way to eat here again. :)
Visiting town for the first time decided to visit this humble looking restaurant. Went there with my family of five, host was polite as well as the one that greeted us and brought us the drinks. However this second waitress who took our order was very dry no hi how are you, welcome, is this your first time, absolutely no smile. Brought us our order, my daughter said she had asked for full cooked sunny side up (maybe worded incorrectly but fully cooked is fully cooked) This waitress who happened to be THE OWNERS DAUGHTER instead of saying “oh miscommunication let me fix it for you instead she decided to make it a point my young daughter did not ask for it and had a nasty attitude about it. Us the family in shock at her reaction over some eggs we jumped into our defense keeping it respectful and civil because we are owners of a business as well, we have manners, common sense and are compassionate to other people. She tooked the eggs rolling her eyes walking away so upset yelling out loud at kitchen door to her employees she needed the order replaced and I could hear her mumbles. We felt in a twilight zone like it is not even 1030am. She then brings them back within leas than five minutes and they looked like they were tossed in but put on the same plate and still runny yolk on it like come on on lady some people just can’t do runny yolk…So I the mother called her back handed the plate politely said to just take it off the check. This scene was unbelievable she got sooooo upset and walked away worse then she did the first time and in a matter of a split second this other waitress walked up to us with the right eggs as if she knew this other crazy Karen had brought the second eggs still runny on purpose. This waitress was very nice and polite I made sure to tell her that. Now on the other hand HEY KAREN IT IS NOT OUR FAULT THAT YOU HAVE TO WORK AS A WAITRESS AT YOUR DADS BUSINESS ON A HOLIDAY WEEKEND. It’s very unfortunate to say but at that point it was hard not to notice that were the only Latinos there and she was treating all other customers decently. Ironically this miserable waitress looser Karen was wearing a shirt that said “Courtesy of the red white and blue”. How can a family member have the nerve to represent her dad business like that unless they are all like that. At this point we won’t ever know because we will never step foot in there again.
Food was ehh. Daughter of the owner was very nasty and rude. When we asked for her to correct an order she rolled her eyes, shook her head, gave attitude and even told my boyfriend he was wrong. Not confirming that she’s a racist BUT we were the only Latino family in there and the only customers being treated poorly by her from the moment she started serving us.
Service is horrible! Young girl (not sure her name) is and has been very poor for waitressing. You work for tips, one would think service would be important. Forbid you want toast with your breakfast. They "cater" to certain patrons, others are left out to dry. Food isn't that great. Place is filthy on top of everything else, IDK how the Health Department allows such filth. Owner doesn't seem to mind that my experience is always a bad one. Unfortunately, I have to frequent there due to my boss but I will no longer eat there. I will just sit while boss eats.
I’m not for sure why they have a decent rating. The food is subpar. The home fries taste like they came out of a bag in the freezer section of Walmart. The eggs were undercooked. The grist bowl was placed on top of my eggs ??♀️ The toast wasn’t toasted. The pancake was probably the best thing and even that was subpar. The service was AWFUL. The waitress was so rude. Never smiled. Had an attitude when my friend misspoke one what she was ordering. She dropped off our food and the check, didn’t tell us to enjoy, didn’t ask if we needed anything, almost gave us the wrong food until we told her which was which. She was totally unpleasant and even to the other customers walking in she had a terrible attitude. Even the host had an unpleasant attitude like she didn’t want to be there or we were bothering her. I’m not sure who would ever want to dine here with these types of employees. I’m disappointed that we stopped here. Of all the other places we could’ve gone. Skip it if you have the option. Not worth it.
My family and I visited Ginnie Springs and we wanted to find a sit down restaurant for breakfast. An employee working at the campground recommended going to High Springs and checking out whichever restaurant was open in the morning, turns out almost everything was closed except for Alice Parkside. It looks like an old building with a lot of charm. It was quite busy but a booth was available at the time we came in, the server was extremely busy but never once forgot about our table, the food came out quick and it was delicious, kid approved too. The price is affordable as well. Parking is in the front and all around the building. The only two things I've noticed, one the carpet needs to go and two the AC vents up on the ceiling need cleaning other than that this place was awesome. Highly recommended.
If your looking for friendly service and good food you might wanna skip this place. They were in no hurry to get our order and I almost got my own refill. My other guest were highly irritated because the game of how long would it take to get our order right had exceeded even my limit(and that's pretty). I am usually pretty happy to stop in at roadside diners, but I will make it a point to go to a chain restaurant the next time.
Great, friendly staff, family run dinner with the best fried chicken around. Home made desserts finish off some delishious southern favorites.
Went with a friend a couple of months ago and the food was very good and served promptly; we were very pleased. Due to a power outage this past Saturday, we decided we would get breakfast at Alice's and what a disappointment. Restaurant was at half capacity and we were given menus and drinks pretty promptly; finally were able to order; ordered a bacon omelet and eggs/ham. It took over 30 minutes to get our meals but people who came in after us got their meals within 15 minutes. Once we got out meals, I was shocked at what was considered an Omelet as it was clearly not cooked completely; had very little bacon and the cheese was processed; scraped the uncooked part of the eggs and ate what I could and the ham/eggs meal; eggs were cooked as ordered but the ham had more fat and gristle than actual meat! We had waited so long for our meals that we decided to just eat what we could and not send anything back. Glad we had home fries and bread. Very disappointed. Not sure what happened between visits to this restaurant. Will not recommend as meals are not consistent.

The service was a little slow but the food was delicious. I can highly recommend the hamburger steak.
Ordered 3 big breakfast plates with 3 sides of sausage gravy for take out. Had it ready in 15 minutes with a smile. That sausage gravy was YUMMMMMMY! Thanks You!
Stoped here on our road trip & luckily we found this place! Thank God for the people who left reviews because aside from the service being fast the food was delicious! Definitely the best breakfast I’ve had in a long time. Their Pancakes are the best & the service was great! 10/10 recommend.
Great staff, good food. I can't wait to come back next year eat there again. I really recommend anybody seeing this survey to go there get some of the best food ever. ?
I love hole in the wall diners, with great food. I am sorry to say I found only the hole, great food DOES NOT get made here. Walked in and found myself a seat, no greeting, place was almost empty. They proceeded to welcome subsequent diners by name. The wait time was around 30 minutes, surprised since it was not busy. ‼️Bland food‼️ Boxed Mac & cheese tastes better. Chicken portion was small, no seasoning, cold and over cooked. The menu said my chicken dinner came with a roll, it was served without one. I asked if my roll was forgotten and the older woman serving said, “You didn’t ask for one, but if you want one I will go get it.” I was glad I asked for one because, it was the only thing with any flavor. I tried to flag the waitress down for a refill, to no avail. I was charged an amount higher for my meal, than the menu stated...but I let it slide because I will NEVER waste my money in this hole again.?Only locals are acknowledged?you get overcharged?portions are tiny?food is bland?no refills
